Stevo 0 Posted August 4, 2008 There''s been lots of discussions recently about the benefits or disadvantages of Roeder''s use of loan signings. A common theme seems to be that the player''s ''parent club'' always benefit....the loan fee and a better, more experienced player returning.Which got me thinking - have we ever really benefited from sending a player out on loan? You think of the Jarvis brothers, Simon Lappin, Bally Smart, Joe Lewis as examples of players that have been loaned out recently. None of whom are now pushing for a first-team place with us. Do we just use the loan system to get rid of unwanted players (a shop window etc) or is it a reflection that our academy is not producing the right calibre of young player?
