a1canary 0 Posted April 1, 2008 I have to say i thought the statement released by the club following his charge was right and appropriate to concentrate on the responsibility of the players and of the club to impress the right attitude on young people and players generally, and the responsibiilty the club has through the academy to educate their youngsters appropriately.Just imagine if it was a premiership player. Would their club have even released a statement? Probably just to say they don''t condone drink driving and then send their best lawyer over to get him off. I wouldn''t expect a word on the club''s responsibilities as educators of young people and employers or international roll models. I''m pleased to see our club recognising this and making a statement to that effect.

I''m talking about the club''s response to the incident. The above post is more about Pattison himself and him being allowed to get on with his career or, conversely being sacked by the club as some have suggested could have happened. Totally different topics. Thanks for your comment though!
