Bits from north of the border

Speaking to a Hibs fan on Sunday night about one of the people that City have been rumoured to be chasing, Scott Brown. Brown is a Scotland U-21 international who plays in midfield off the front two or wide right. A speedy player whose big downside appears to be his disciplinary problems, although by all accounts he has calmed down a good bit. Hails from Hill of Beath (Cowdenbeath) - one of the less salubrious areas of Fife.

The other thing is that Dunfermline striker Stevie Crawford is out of contract with the Pars. A Scottish full international who is of the Mackenzie mould of striker. A potential target if the Canaries are looking to bolster their front line.

As for fanciful targets what about Henrik Larsson now that his contract is up at Celtic?

Nothing more on the Ross rumour that was in the Daily Record. Saw him in the last game of the season against Dunfermline and he didn''t look anything special. In fact he came off midway through the second half. Mind you he has international experience and he is young.

From what I understand (not much) Hibs av got a whole load of talent yet to be touched by ne1. Riordan, Brown, McManus and O''Connor to name a few.

Only prob wiv stealing there players is, didn''t a former Ipsh*t player just take over there?

How about a rummage around Rangers and Celtic youth system, there must be some players there wiv a bit of quality who they don''t want (Malky was just the same). Could even look round englands ''better'' clubs for a few quality players, the same happened wiv McVeigh and Mulryne!

More stuff from up here......

Talking to a Dundee Utd fan the other evening about City targetting Scottish International keeper Gallacher and his comment was that he couldn''t see Gallacher going to a club where he would not be first choice. He is by all accounts set to leave Dundee Utd but it''s not clear to where.

With Green clearly continuing to figure as top dog in between the sticks it does seem unlikely that Gallacher would want to come down to sit on the bench, unless there''s something happening to Greeno that we don''t know about.....

That''s the thing, Norwich are going to find it difficult to get another keeper in, because as Green is so good, another keeper will be second choice and keeping the bench warm. I doubt any young keepers will want to settle for that, so we will probably end up having to get someone older who possibly doesnt mind being second to Greeno?
