Hardhouse44 289 Posted December 17, 2007 Then I say buy him.Truth seem to be that we will have some transfer budget that will be around the £1m mark. If that is so then I say go for Taylor. We hear the manager say we need strengthening is several position but at the back is most vital. At least we know that with Taylor as the bedrock of the defence we can keep clean sheets and we can win games. If the stumbling block to his purchase is that there would be nothing left for others then what good are they going to be. 3 or 4 players for £1m or even £1.5m are not going to be exactly top notch. If however we haven''t even got the funds to buy Taylor alone then god bless us! Show Me What You Gooot! 0 Posted December 17, 2007 If Roeder spent all our budget on Taylor I wouldn''t be disappointed lets put it like that. Hopefully there would be enough left to buy Mo and Matt too.Its unfortunate most of PGs signings have been below-par but its a mistake we should learn from (weather the board will is another thing) and try it the other way - sign just one (quality) player for a "hefty" sum. Look at Ashton and Earnshaw for instance. When we spent what we did on those two good things happened. Then look what happened when we signed the cheaper options afterwards. Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted December 17, 2007 Agree. Would much rather add 1 player of real quality than 3/4 average players. Unfortunately this is NCFC, we have nothing and need to shop in the footballer equivalent of Primark!!
