Depressed Dad

Recommended Posts

Well this has become a really sorry state, listening yesterday whilst in constant contact with my dad. He is an avid fan who has the best for NCFC in mind and always keeps a positive frame on things. So when I hear how genuinely sad he is over the current situation it really worries me. He knows Ive never liked Grant or his approach to management but has always backed him but he has become so disillusioned as there does not appear to be any genuine way back with current personel in all depts.     I have no pleasure at all in our failures recently and am confident that we will remain in this league but it is just the style of football and approach that is so disconcerting. People awaiting the return of Fotheringham as the messiah is laughable and highlights our problems. However it appers certain that our board lack the balls, money, knowledge (delete as appropriate) to make the necessary changes.     For the record I have long held a view that we are in a very mediocre at best league and that the teams who achieve success only need a very small rise to achieve it, such as inspiration from Keane, or a specific approach to the way to play such as Watford and Derby recently, or a wadge of cash. At present we have none of these and none are forthcoming. I would like to have an established first 11 with youth competition for places and a manger with a specific way of playing, preferably neat energetic attacking approach with high work ethic. Again we are miles from this. Grant seems to feel so insecure in what he must do that he wants an enormous squad of professionals, many of whom he undermines and lacks trust in, and wants the ability to change tactics and formations multiple times throughout our game. This is simply unrealistic and overcomplicated at this level.     I am clinging onto hope at present that things improve and hope that those of you that read this at least recognise that one day Grant, Delia, Doncaster (again delete in line with your views) will be gone and we will still be here, so keep the faith and follow, follow, follow, ..........follow the boys in yellow.P.S. Sorry Dad for using you to illustrate my point but it was a sad, sad day.
