My Barnet Summary

Recommended Posts

Well, what an interesting and partly entertaining evening at carreow road.

Lets not kid ourselves, the defence from minute one was appalling, end of, lets not kid oursleves listening to radio norfolk callers telling us it was a slight second half blip. Unfortunatley, i see it coming from one area, Doherty, his positiong is poor, his distribution is generally poor, he''s poor in the air, he gives away fouls and is a generall liability. He causes problems for those around him, i thought shackall did well.

Attacking wise it was a good excersize, we attacked with pace without huckerby, passed it around quickly and generally finshed well scoring some good goals, of which the midfiedl (about time) contributed.

As a team we sat back, relaxed from 5-0. I hope and expect it was just complacency and a want to preserve themselkves for saturday. If we play solid, tight football and win against southampton then the lasthour tonight will be forgotten. I knew that we wouldnt get the route we all hoped for, after a poor end to the 1st half. As we''ve seen before we sat back on a lead, and lost rythym after the linesmans injury, the break did us no good whatsoever. At hjalf time i had that feeling we wouldnt get many more, though i didnt expect it to be quite so bad.

Second half was tear your hear out stuff, the most entertaining occurence was a barnet player going into the board round the pitch, which was quickly fixed by the steward. Sorry to anyone near me, (thorpe wing, city stand) for my annoyance with doherty and my perhaps colourful language.

Another negative is strihavka, i''m afraid he still looks lost, and we need brown or martin (in his right position) with cureton.

Well done PG, i thought your analysis on radio norfolk was spot on

and Well done Barnet, you had a sense of humour with "you''re gonna score in a minute" and probably other songs i couldnt quite translate. They probably couldnt have imagined scoring two themselves after 30 minutes. It was also good to see "englands number one" in goal had a sense of humour at our chants, it seeme dto spur him on to make some saves.

(and who was the caller on radio norfolk who made strihavka out to be the new alan shearer?, we''''ve not seen the best of him yet thats for sure, but this caller was weirdly impressed!)
