SAF'S AGENTS

Recommended Posts

CANARY TIM

The latest in the long running Safri/Norwich City saga reached new depths this week.

I have long championed Saf as a player we need to keep especially after losing Dickson but now I don''t think it is worth the effort.

So Saf missed training because HE had to pick up a agent...this is surely a case of the tail wagging the dog  or some such saying.  Is Saf so desperate to leave has he turned into a taxi service for anyone who wants to be his agent.

When Peter Grant came to us I thought alot of his comments regarding Saf were very strange and  that coupled with Saf''s friend coming on Neil Adams phone-in on Radio Norfolk these things  painted a picture of a man at odds with the Club not the incoming manager.

From the very start Grant said   "Youseff  had issues with the club" which needed sorting out. I believe he was trying to give Saf a clean start.

For what it is worth, I think the problem has been the fact that Norwich City took up the 1 year extension on Saf''s contract which even though he and his "agent" agreed to it at the time I now believe he doesn''t see it as enough security.

So he is now 30, misses up to 6 weeks in the winter due to African Nations cup and doesn''t play when he is tired....... this is not a great bargaining position, but had the club offered him a 2 or 3 year deal who knows. Is he worth it considering all the above ?

Petre Grant''s signings , Jamie Cureton aside heve all been 25-26 years old which I think is the way to go and maybe Youseff Safri has had his time at Norwich City and it is in the interest of both parties for a parting of the ways. For at least £1.5 million that is.

PS  I still believe if Worthy had played Saf & Shackell earlier in our Premiership season we would have stayed up.

There were comments made by Grant that said something like the previous manageent had promised Safri would be able to leave, which Grant checked out to be untrue.

The club are showing Safri to be the bad guy that wants to be allowed to leave, but he clearly and obviously is trying to force the club in to the position where they sell him rather than him requesting a transfer move, where by him making that request he would no doubt lose out on any financial bonus or incentives from the club instigating the sale.
