canarytim 0 Posted September 26, 2006 CANARYTIM A FRIEND OF MINE IS AN AWAY SEASON TICKET HOLDER AND TO SAY HE WAS FUMING AFTER THE PLYMOUTH GAME WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT !SHADES OF QPR,WOLVES,DERBY ETC OF LAST SEASON REARED ITS HEAD AGAIN IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS.BUT HE MADE A GOOD POINT AFTER THE GAME AND THEY WERE DAVE STRINGER`S COMMENTS WHEN HE LEFT "EVERY MANAGER HAS SHELF LIFE"SO EVEN IF YOU ARE A MR BLOWER`S "WORTHY OUTER" OR A MR WOOLSEY`S " KEEP THE FAITH BRIGADE" I THINK IT HAS BECOME IMMATERIAL AS I DO NOT THINK NIGEL CAN CONTINUE AS HIS POSITION HAS BECOME (AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE) UNTENABLE.I THINK THE WORTHY OUTERS HAVE GIVEN HIM EVERY CHANCE BY CORRECTLY KEEPING QUIET AND GETTING BEHIND THE TEAM, BUT NOW IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE THAT THE DEMONSTRATIONS ARE BACK ON THE AGENDA.(EVEN THOUGH THEY DO HELP THE OPPOSITION)AND ON A TACTICAL NOTE IT IS WELL WORTH REMEMBERING THE PERFORMANCES OF HIS HARD TACKLING MIDFIELD IN THE FIRST FEW YEARS OF HIS REIGN AND THE IMITATION OF THE RED SEA IN THE THE LAST FEW !SO I URGE NIGEL TO DO THE HONOURABLE THING AND RESIGN FOR THE GOOD OF THE CLUB. Beaker 0 Posted September 26, 2006 Time for Nigel Worthington to go.Football is a game of results, and the results Norwich have been getting as of late are simply not good enough.3-0 drubbings by both Coventry and Plymouth, a 1-0 defeat at home by Palace and allowing Southend to come back from 3-1 down shows that Norwich have reverted to the sort of mediocre form that had them to finish so low last season.Despite a brief spell where we thought things may have changed, it''s clear they haven''t. Our problems of last season and the season before (ie an exceptionally poor away record, exceptionally thin squad and reliance on particular players) still exist and Worthington seems unable to sort them.Has the time come for Nigel to be sacked? I can''t see any other course of action for Norwich now. Let''s get rid, and get of Nigel and his assistant Doug Livermore, and start again.Question is, who''d replace him?Obviously Curbishley is the name most people would like, but to be honest, i don''t think Norwich is a high profile enough job for a manager of his talent, but who knows?Souness, Robson, O''Leary and Hoddle are without teams, but i''d rather stab myself in the face with a rusty spoon than see either of them in charge of my club. Let''s be honest, all 4 of them are useless. Thankfully, we''re probably too small a club to get any of them!Blackwell or Keegan is an option, and prehaps not bad ones at that. KB managed to get Leeds to the playoff final last season, which is no mean feat, and can work with little money. And KK got both Manchester City and Fulham promotion in the lower leagues, for me Keegan would be my favorite behind Curbishley obviouslyNo doubt we''ll sneak a couple of jammy wins in the next two games and he stays until christmas....
