Bernard Futter 0 Posted August 4, 2006 So we try to sign Horsfield and on the same age criteria grounds (so we are led to believe?) reject Sutton. If the buffoon had an ounce of PR savvy and genuinely cared one jot about the fans, he would at least have put out a reasoned argument rather one of his arrogant, bone headed riposts. Then at least we would all know that the Sutton issue had been debated in a mature and sensible way which it clearly merits. What he has done is give fans yet another stick to beat him with if Sutton bangs in a few goals elsewhere. Let''s just hope it gets us to the ''tipping point'' earlier... blahblahblah 2 Posted August 4, 2006 The only direct quote from NW regarding reasons why Sutton isn''t an option from the pinkun site is here, maybe someone can dig other quotes out :
...One player never on Worthington''s list was former Canaries star Chris Sutton, although not because of the financial impact.“Nothing will happen as far as Chris Sutton is concerned,” he said. “Chris has been here and done a very good job for the club and moved away and been a very, very good player over the years. He''s a bit older now, he''s had his injury problems, which would be a concern to myself so that is something that won''t happen.”
Sadly, some fans have long memories for the bad things, and short memories for the good ones.
