when the "1" is a little guy who relies on his pace and scores most of his goals from inside the penalty area, if we are going to play this system away from home we need somebody with a bit of strenghth, who can hold the ball up, and bring the likes of Earnshaw into play. Being from the "old school" and given we now have a recognised right winger I would prefer we play the 4-4-2 formation, there is no reason this system cannot be "defensive" when we have not got the ball.
