Is Worthy under any pressure whatsoever?

Recommended Posts

It has now been 2 months, more or less, since the season ended. Therefore Worthington should have been trying to sign players. Yet all we hear is that he has made lots of phone calls and made inquires. I dont quite know what it means when he makes an inquiry, because he seems to forget to pursue his interests and put in a bid. But i am increasingly worried, while we have had heard next to nothing on the transfer front, teams like B''ham, WBA and Coventry have already constructed promotion quality squads, and without always spending a great deal of money. There have been several players already, who would have been perfect for us and available for peanuts. Not all of these players would have turned us down for bigger clubs or better pay, for example Kenny Lunt and Bougherra (i think) who signed for Sheff Wed.

I get the sense that Worthy is under no pressure to make signings, nobody seems at all worried about such a lack of  signings. I am pretty sure that if he really wanted these players, Worthy could have already assembled a decent squad.

All last season there was no pressure on Worthy despite awful football, and there seems no pressure to make him take this club anywhere.

Hence, i am concerned.

No pressure what so ever.  I also believe the reasons for this are as listed below:Support from the board, many of who were shareholders and directors when Chase was here.  Nothing has changed, they always pull rank and now with the spin-miester Doncaster on there as well, more ''wool-pulling-over-eyes'' will be happening.  They dont really care about the supporters, not as long as they are getting the cash in.  Ask yourself this, would Worthington still be in charge if there was another share issue on the horizon or no parachute payment from the Prem league?Green tinted spectacle wearers: the ones who cant see the woods for the trees.  The ones who no matter what excuses are given, will still pass it off as a dip in form.  I imagine that the board and Worthy must look in on this forum from time to time and think '' well so and so are still backing us''! What they should realise is that the majority of the doubters on here have been going to carra road for years, and contribute a lot of money into the coffers.  We have a new coach!Whoopie doo.  As someone who has worked with Foley, all I can say is that he was made a scapegoat, and this is a decision that will come back to haunt us.  But hey! We now have Martin (has worked with Cole and Carrick) Hunter. On a final note, I have said previously that I am not anti-NCFC, but anti anyone who thinks it OK to patronise normal, intellegent and  honest people.  The players that pull on the shirt are also not to blame, they are not good enough, but at the end of the day, who bought them?  Who trains them? And who  is the first to criticise them for his short comings?                           "My father always said that if you allow a dog to s##t on your carpet and dont tell it off, it''ll do it again"
