Cantley 0 Posted May 29, 2006 I find the spectacle of Worthy-outers earnestly debating whether we can hold onto Earnshaw utterly risible. As though the man just materialised one morning and started playing for us.Earnshaw is arguably the best goalscorer in the Championship. So - either a lot of Championship teams wanted him, and he chose to come to City, or (more likely) Worthy saw something in him nobody else did.Either way, getting Earnshaw was a heck of a coup. And how much credit has Worthy been given for this? Sweet FA. Why am I not surprised?
W.O. 0 Posted May 29, 2006 Earnshaw was signed to keep the fans quiet after selling Ashton , as for making out Worthington is special for spotting him ,well laughable ,everybody knew how good Earnshaw was years ago . Will we be able to keep him ? yes untill January if the Worthless one signs more rubbish like he did last season.
seedyrom 0 Posted May 29, 2006 I rather suspect the real scenario was that nobody else had 3 million quid to splash up front for him - WBA made no secret that they would sell to the first bidder who met their valuation. As for the player himself, he couldn''t wait to leave, and probably would have gone anywhere to get out from under Robson.
Infamy, Infamy 0 Posted May 29, 2006 Spot on Cantley! Heaven forbid the Board or Nigel should ever get any credit for anything.[8-)]
