Luton wanted it more than we did.

OK, so it's a sad old cliche, but for once there is no better way of descibing the first half and much of the second. The number of 50/50 challenges that Luton won in the first half was embarrassing. Luton KNOW that if they don't do that against sides, then they will struggle. They have HUMBLE players who know they have to put themselves on the line. They don't believe that they have a God given right to be playing in the Championship. We don't have that.

Luton's first half work rate was phenomenal, and it was obvious that they wouldn't be able to sustain it for 90 minutes. Sure enough, they dropped the pace after the break.

The question is "what are we". We're not a side that can dominate sides with our quality, much as we would like to be. We are not a side with the humbleness to get down and dirty.

It's a real problem, and it may take a full cycle of player and manager turnover to resolve it.
