Bill 1,788 Posted July 1, 2020 No complaints from me. I watched City players giving their all. Five youth players proving that the long term plan is working...... and had some amusement from reading long forgotten log in's being resurrected to denounce the evil of the club - like some Old Testament prophets their words are full of fire and brimstone.... and flatulence. If we go down it won't be a collapse like B;mouth who have often struggled to fill their 12,000 capacity ground, nor with huge debts and wage bill like Villa. We will be in a league where clubs ex PL sit beached mid table, or even in the shadows of relegation sit. Almost everyone having shown 'hambition' (spending what you can't afford) or having the benefit of some long gone 'hinvestor' City were never going to follow that route. One that offers a few seasons in the PL followed by collapse - only for another hopeful to step into the ring So to all those genuine supporters who have seen all this, have watched the club through good and dad times, who know we'll come good again.........here's to Saturday
yellowrider120 637 Posted July 1, 2020 Well Quasi we may be polar opposites on the political debates but I do agree with your sentiments here. There is little doubt that the economic winds from COVID will be cold and fierce indeed and we MAY be better placed than many in The Chumpionship to withstand them. That said, I do believe, and have annoyed some posters on this forum tonight, by saying that Farke must bear a large chunk of responsibility for this awful season. I do fear, however, that his stubbornness and lack of flexibility in the teams playing style could cost us next season when teams will know all about us and be well prepared. Another concern is that the forthcoming 'close season' will be nothing of the sort as we go into action again within about four weeks of finishing this nonsense and almost certainly on the back of a terrible set of results stretching back months. For the players that remain with us, those psychological scars will be still raw come 1st September and a poor start could quickly prove the unwinding of the Frake / Webber regime.
