sonyc 5,541 Posted February 8, 2019 Are there any stats experts who happen to know our best ever goal scoring season? We got 89 I recall in League 1. And is there a chance we could beat that total this year?
sonyc 5,541 Posted February 8, 2019 Found a site and in the modern era (last 50 years) we scored 89 goals our League 1 campaign and 88 in 85/86 (think Drinkell/Biggins era). In our Alex Neil promotion season we also scored 84. It's interesting to note we need 33 goals in 16 matches to get our first ever 90 goal season (excluding an early 1950s season when we scored 99).
Aggy 766 Posted February 9, 2019 (edited) Wikipedia do a list of each season for each club... google “Wikipedia list of Norwich city seasons”. That also lists top goalscorers each season and Pukki on 22 (all competitions) is already the highest scorer since Grant Holt in the championship promotion season. However, Pukki only needs two more to have the most goals in a season at this level or higher since the sixties. Alcock got 37 in 62/63! Davies got 30 the season after. (Holt also got 30 in league one.) Edited February 9, 2019 by Aggy Adding re Holt in league one
