Contract to be extended

If Delia is convinced Worthy is the man for the job why doesn''t he get a further extension to his contract.

Would his Sheff Wed blackmail tactics work today, where was his loyalty in he past, sitting on big contract not interested in moving on or improving the team, what is his incentive to work harder ?  Worthy knows he can''t solve our current problem but will cling on regardless.
