Think is rather obvious Wagner won't be going anywhere until the end of the season so even a stupid question like this one is rather pointless

Why did you start your Is Wagner tactically inept thread then?

Yes. But as far as you’re concerned he’s not going anywhere. Completely pointless.

  2. Can’t see us getting anything.

I think people are getting carried away by a fortunate draw away at the scum and an unconvincing scraped win against cannon fodder in Huddersfield. Ok, we have 4 points but nobody could argue if we’d lost both games.

Still the starting XI appears to be a lottery and the only foreseeable result here is defeat. Probably heavy.

I expect the 17,000 that were ACTUALLY THERE against Huddersfield would agree with me.

    Hope I’m wrong.

Are we really saying our premiership squads were worse than Luton’s ? Maybe Luton are over achieving, but in that case didn’t we way under achieve ?

Our 2019 squad included 4 players sold for + £20 million, a top international goalkeeper at the time in Krull and a centre forward in Pukki far better than anything Luton have. We had a class act in Klosse ( unfortunately got injured ) and whatever you might think of Cantwell he was pretty good that year.

In defence of them I would argue Luton try to win games 1:0, we were torn apart trying to win games 5:4. Are there really many Luton players you would have added to our squad and got excited about signing.

I’d have been delighted if we’d signed Ross Barkley.

I can't sell it to you because I don't know. But I do care. And what I don't get is why you don't care. Why you concentrate on this Delia narrative when the ownership has already changed and the strategy moving forwards seems to be led by Attanasio.

I get folk think he's minted so it must be good. They like the colour of his money. They like the smooth chat. But what's the plan? Nobody asks. I'm amazed that the local press aren't busting a gut to find out. I guess there's more clicks in this Delia nonsense or whether Dean Smith would last longer than a mushroom.

I still ask myself what would attract me to investing in a baseball club in Milwaukee. Can't think of anything. Could you sell that to me?

Happy Days was set there, I think?

I see versions of this argument a lot at the minute and the issue is I think you’re both right.

We all know (or should know) being negative, or passive during the game or not turning up even has a negative affect on the players. It just can’t be ignored.

The counter issue is why should those supporters be expected to support to the levels people high within Norwich City insist they should when it appears (rightly or wrongly, but it does appear that way) those same people in power aren’t interested in their concerns and are happy to berate or see them berated.

Far be it from me to try and determine how folk offer their support, I’ve had a hissy fit and left early in the past. But it was a hissy fit. My - admittedly simplistic - view is try and do what we can to be encouraging and behind them in the ground and then we can get all maudlin and mardlin over a nice half of mild in the rub-a-dub-dub.

Im just not sure rousing renditions of “we’re facking sh01te”, gallows humour or not, does much to motivate the lads.

At the end of the day the local derby is a straightforward simple affair, 22 blokes kick a ball around for ninety minutes and the result is that 1p5wich don't win.

If we beat them in April (or draw to be fair), then I think it extremely likely that nobody in their first two concession ranges (u12 - obvs and u19) will never remember them beating us in their entire lives. My youngest is 10 and they hadn’t beat us for four and a half years before he was born.

That's the  80% fault, they do nothing except leave with 10 minutes to go  there's no passion. I was there in the 80s to . Clubs then were successful because they had huge support  we could compete  money ruined it for clubs like us. You could also meet up with your friends in a group and enjoy the day. Unfortunately our ageing fanbase and seating that has destroyed it as well. Its certainly not 20% of fans getting on the players backs during the game,  it's the majority talking to their  friends about their week instead of supporting the team.

You’re right about the money. But you seem determined to make a massive thing about the percentage thing. It was a throwaway comment, possibly/probably ill-judged but whatever percentage it is and who it is, the only way we, as supporters, can have any impact on a game is from the stands. Why do the oppositions job for them? None of us are rich enough to start buying clubs or elite players, the only possible (admittedly limited) chance we have to level things up is get onto the opposition, pressure the officials and when that doesn’t work, we can still moan in the pub about wasting money on Coney or Sheron or Naismith or RVW or Rashica or whatever. Just save it for the pub.

So many games the vocal fans want to back them,  but there's been nothing to get behind and worse nothing to believe in. The 3 stands who do absolutely nothing are more the problem..

We can still back them when they’re sh01te. We’ve done it before. Attitudes have definitely changed in the Sky era but when I was going in the 80s as a kid, I don’t ever remember feeling that I was “owed” something, be that a level of performance or entertainment, you’d go more hoping for the best I think.

But I’ve been fortunate. I’ve seen us win at both Wembley Stadiums, seen us win Division 2 four (?) times, division 3, make 2 FA cup semis, finish top 6 a few times… a few years before I was born we’d never even played in the top flight in our 70 year existence.

The you are deluded. Davis, Chaplin, Hirst, Clarke, Williams, Wolfenden, Burgess, Tuanzebe, Broadhead, Morsy, Luongo, Hutchinson all walk into your side...fact.

Put the glue down. Go to bed. You’ve listed a load of nobodies and rejects. Williams didn’t walk into our team when he was here.

There was a player you had that we wanted, so we signed him. Pecking order. If we wanted any of your players, we’d do it again now.

Anyway, shouldn’t you be robbing a charity or terrorising a pensioner or something? If you’re really bored that tree growing out of your stand could do with a prune.

80 year old woman is slightly clumsy with her words after a few too many sherries.

I do wonder how some people on message boards cope in the real world if they’re still acting offended by this however many weeks after it happened

Quite. Wasn’t particularly @rsed then and I’m certainly not now.

The whole Farkelife-Farkeball-Flag Happy era was undoubtedly better, all pulling in the same direction and nobody bothered about job titles, remits, or reporting hierarchy. And it was better. It is better. That’s not to say folk can’t have complaints/concerns but it’s surely indisputable that backing the team is better than barracking them?

There is some truth in what you say. Most of our side would struggle in the premier league, i'm under no illusions about that, the gulf in quality is huge. Most players have some limitations, particulalry at this level but Morsy is very good at what he does and underated by many opposition fans in my view.

I'm not sure you do have better players than us though to be honest, how many of your team would get in ours realistically? I wouldn't swap any of our back four for yours. I'd take Sara, Rowe, and probably Sargent when fully fit, i'm genuinely struggling to think of any others.

Weird. I wouldn’t take any of yours.

I've just been looking at the City first goal

    • When the ball is crossed Rowe was a yard offside.
    • Then it comes across he does an over head kick nearly taking out their No 2 dangerously.
    • Then he completes the job by bringing him down.
    • Then as he is getting up he handles the ball to control it.
Where was the Ref ? He watched it closely and gave the goal.

    Typical big club bias.
