Good luck everyone, the following guesses will certainly need it ....Stuttgart vs Paderborn, draw at 11/4.Norwich game, 2-2 at 14/1. -
Good luck all.I''m going for a Middlesbrough/Derby draw at 23/10.I''m also going for the Norwich 2-1 win at 7/1. -
What a birthday Twidio! Well done and perhaps you can help your grandfather in future. -
Good luck Twidio and many happy returns. My success rate is so low I can continue to look at riskier bets without fearing any damage so, if you fancy a longer odds pick, how about:Charlton to win at Forest at 9/2.As for the Norwich bet I think we''ll win with both teams scoring, also at 9/2. -
I imagine there may have been other aspects of the job offer (low salary, small transfer kitty, an unwillingness to pay large compensation to a club for its manager, etc) that would severely reduce the potential candidates. At that stage NA may well have been the the best option. -
This week''s pick-to-avoid is:Southampton to draw at home to Man City at 12/5.For the Norwich game, 2-0 home win at 15/2.Good luck everyone. -
buy not but! -
I''m not looking to ask awkward questions at the AGM but I would like to but some shares. What''s the going rate? and is the where''s the best place to buy then? -
Good luck NWC, TGD and everyone else.I''m going to continue my losing ways with:Arsenal to draw with Man Utd at 5/2; anda draw for the Norwich game at 23/10. -
Good luck Purple and thanks for your opus "Finance versus the manager" earlier in the week.I fancy a draw this week in the Swindon vs Bristol City game, at 2/1. -
I have a 200 yard drive and whenever I''m after hardcore I get some very strange responses. -
I think we should go for an Italian and appoint Parma. -
I can''t see how folk can say "in" or "out" without knowing what the alternatives are.Firing a manager without a replacement makes no sense, unless one believes the vacancy will attract interest that hadn''t previously put itself forward. Given that we had a vacancy as recently as June this year I don''t think much will have changed and therefore it is unlikely that new candidates will emerge (unless we''re talking about Magath et).My qualified response is "out" but only as long as the replacement promises;(a) a marked improvement from where we are now;(b) a reasonable expectation of promotion;(c) intelligent and attractive football. -
The best of luck to Paul''s Ferry & Mandie Moo.NN & Parma - thanks for all the kind words on thread 13, I''ve had some luck but my consistency stinks. Therefore Paul''s Ferry I recommend giving this pick a wide berth - Swansea to draw with Arsenal at 12-5. Mandie Moo - I think it''ll be a draw and not sure if it''ll be 0-0 (at 10-1) or 1-1 (at 6-1). -
If we did win 100-0 it would certainly highlight how poor our performance had been in the 14 preceding games. -
Good luck Herman & CITD.I''m going for another draw, Wigan vs Fulham, at 9/4.For the Norwich bet, I will go for (and it will not happen) a HT/FT of Draw/Draw, at 5/1. -
Thank you for the tips this week. After much thought and having studied the intestines of a pheasant (roadkill when I was walking the dog) and seeking to incorporate as many tips as I can, my picks are as follows:1. Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe to score anytime (Purple, Parma) 2. Norwich to win (city-til-i-die, Hissing Sid, Mr Apples, LDC, NN, Hector B) 3. Under 2.5 goals (cityangel, LDC, Hector B, Til1010, jb) 4. Turner to score (NN, Diesel Doris) 5. Score draw (Yellow future, The Great Drinkell, Kathy, cityangel, Trent, Til1010) 6. Norwich to win 3-1We can’t win all six but I hope that represents the consensus. -
Good luck Mr Angry and everyone else.I''m going for a draw between the top two teams in the Bundesliga, Borussia Munchengladbach (2nd but at home) and Bayern Munich on Sunday (1630 ko) at 7/2.I will also aim to submit the Norwich picks tomorrow evening so please get them in as I haven''t got a single Norwich pick right once so far. -
Just for information/interest, this is an extract from the BBC''s coverage of Guardiola''s new book.Barcelona''s ability to dominate teams and possession with their tiki-taka passing style won them plaudits around the world. But Guardiola told Perarnau: "I loathe all that passing for the sake of it, all that tiki-taka. It''s so much rubbish and has no purpose. You have to pass the ball with a clear intention, with the aim of making it into the opposition''s goal. It''s not about passing for the sake of it."Don''t believe what people say. Barca didn''t do tiki-taka! It''s completely made up! Don''t believe a word of it! In all team sports, the secret is to overload one side of the pitch so that the opponent must tilt its own defence to cope."You overload on one side and draw them in so that they leave the other side weak. And when we''ve done all that, we attack and score from the other side."That''s why you have to pass the ball, but only if you''re doing it with a clear intention. It''s only to overload the opponent, to draw them in and then to hit them with the sucker punch. That''s what our game needs to be. Nothing to do with tiki-taka." -
Parma,La ringrazio molto - mantenere il buon lavoro ... or at least that''s what Google translate said.I enjoy these essays enormously as I''m not au fait with the tactical side of the modern game. Thank you and keep them coming. -
Good luck Kathy, LDC and everyone else.In the Bundesliga I''m tipping Hoffenheim to win away at Hamburg (on Sunday) at 7/4.As I''m yet to get a Norwich tip right I hope I''m helping the cause by tipping Fulham to win 2-1 at 9/1. -
Sid,That''s very decent of you to fund a second round of bets. I''m pleased to see you pick Denmark, which I did, so to return the compliment I''ll double any win on you away bets. -
Good luck everyone, think we''ll need it this weekend. It seems to me that the best option out there is an away win for Denmark in Albania at 5/4. There again, I''m not on NN''s table ..... -
