Delia''s got the coffin lid, Michael''s holding a nail (it might be the last one) and McNally is picking up a large claw hammer. -
His enthusiasm is FANTASTIC!
Shame can''t hit a barn door.
Or be @rsed to chase for a ball that isn''t to his feet.
But you can''t have everything.
Although being paid a small fortune must help.

Yeah,yeah, yeah ... whatEVARR!
Are we going to sack Hughton???
We need a pitchfork wielding mob!
-
The Sunday Times gave Finidi''s performance 4/10 - the lowest of any player on the pitch. Perhaps their journalists are also slack-jawed wurzels who"don''t know football".
Or, more likely, they have an objective view.

Good point. Very eloquently put! -
I''m no statistician but I think Steve Morison probably had a better Premiership strike rate than one goal every 450 minutes (and counting). And he wasn''t the most expensive player in the club''s history ...

The biggest "bust" in Canary history! -
This is not the time or place for Madness ... -
Worst away support? The comprehensively outsung our support all game. They backed their team. We were an embarrassment. -
A bit pedantic but we haven''t "bought" him. -
Just like when Ipswich signed Finidi and Counago ... -
More than Dean van Coneyswinkle. Can hold the ball up, challenge in the air, get a shot off, not give away petulant fouls.. should I go on? -
Couldn''t agree more old chap! Gets more like a library with every passing season. Of course, the "real fans" in the Barclay (so passionate, they stand up!) continue to delude themselves that their creating a wall of sound which will lift the team. Of course, they''re doing nothing of the sort.
Can you hear the Barclay sing?

Colin perhaps? He''s very good friends with Delia. -
A simple question. Would we have looked any less threatening with, perhaps, Steve Morison leading the line? I think we all know the answer in our heart of hearts. Starting to look like an expensive mistake?
He even looks a bit like Dean Coney.

So, another 90 minutes for the "goal machine", another blank. His apologists can''t crew up their faces and scream that he wasn''t supplied with decent chances. He was, he just fluffed them all. The telling moment was early on - we''re awarded a penalty. Why isn''t young Finidi grabbing the ball out of the hapless Snodders hands? He supposed to be a striker. He is supposed to have been a dead-eyed penalty marksman for Sporting. Personally, I think he bottled it.
Hooper looked sharp and far more combative, a bit of the Flecky about him. It will be an absolute travesty of Finidi starts the next game at Hooper''s expense.
-
Thought he was much improved for the first twenty minutes. After that, he barely touched the ball. Bit of a worry if you''re playing in the centre of midfield. -
The Villa fans told us what our support is, and few could argue. Quiet as church mice. Eek eek! -
One thumping header aside, he has done nothing. Clever runs? Mehhh!! He needs to man-up and get stuck in! -
I realise it is an uncomfortable truth but...
I think many, many contributors to, and readers of, this forum harbour doubts about Ricky. He could turn out to be an eye-wateringly expensive flop.
Those who blindly leap to his defence may be sticking their heads in the sand. If we had picked him up on a free, he would have been subbed in every match. His contribution is negligible. His price tag means his starting berth is sacrosanct... for now. I have a feeling Hooper is going to steal his thunder.

What have we got to lose? We''ve seen Finidi - next! Give the guy a go, he could hardly have less impact on the game than Ricky "the invisible man" van Wolfswinkel. -
It was illuminating to watch Swansea''s marque summer signing against Valencia last night. Worked his socks off, instrumental in his team''s many up-field forays, scored a cracking goal. And we have little Ricky. They cost similar sums but I know which one I''d rather have...
There endeth the lesson.

It''s not a case of how much money you spend but how wisely you spend it. If we have frittered away our dosh on players who are no better than what we had then that would be a costly error.
Here endeth the lesson.
