  1. I dont know if theres any truth in Knapper wanting his own man or if theres any truth in Cuesta, but this might be the only chance for a change.

Arteta learnt under Pep, and look at Arsenal.these last two seasons. Cuesta has lewrnt under Arteta. An up and coming manager, higly rated and developed under the best.

IF we get up i fear a season in EPL. Its been a great achievement getting to the playoffs but imo this summer might be that once in a chance window of opportunity to get Cuesta before he goes onto bigger things IF theres any truth in the rumours)

Either that or Wagner will be here nest season 😆

    What was the motivation today?

Barring a ridiculous result all the players knew was incredibly unlikely, and certainly would have known wasn’t happening at half time, the only motivation was to get through without being injured.

No players leaving the game today feeling unmotivated they failed to beat Birmingham, it was a match they just needed to get through unscathed both individually and as a team.

Seriously. What about bristol c and swansea. Were they both "lets jog around and make sure we leave unscathed" games also.

Do u really think thats what Wagner told them.in the dressing room before kick off today.

  3. Im concerned weve struggled in two home games against bristol c and Swansea.

These were games we were supposed to be motivated in to seal our playoff place and get over the finishing line. We didnt.Today weve lost to a relegated side when again the motivation should have been there. We've secured our playoff due to other results.

If we couldn't get motivated in these three games, how will Wagner get them motivated in a playoff game.

Thankfully form doesn't count for much now

You don’t end up 5th in the league without playing well. Trying to claim we’re only where we are due to the failings of others is nonsense, we’re 5th in the league because we’ve been the 5th best team over the course of the season. I’ll agree it’s been done in a strange manner with two spells of title winning form and with one of relegation material sandwiched in between, but we’re in the playoffs on merit.

I’m not confident we’ll win the playoffs, I think whoever finishes 3rd will be slight favourites but to me if we’ve finished top 6 especially with the injuries we’ve had then that’s a successful season

It goes without saying, or to put it a other way, i didnt state the obvious that weve ammassed enough points from results to put us 5th, because that is obvious.

At no point did i say were only in 5th because 20 odd teams have been worse.

I said we're in 5th currently and as a result of others performing worse e.g. wba

Everyone around us, including Leicester have had real wobbly spells,.which is natural. Weve had an i incredible 2nd have of the season, but yet even with Bristol C and Swansea we havent been able.to finish the job off, and thats why its been a weird season. For every great result (wba, preston away, ipswich) weve then not followed it up with strong performanes.

We are where we are, i like.others couldnt have imagined we'd make the playoffs so all credit to wagner, knapper and the players.

Bizarre and freaky results aside in the last week we're in the playoffs and have that 1 in 4 chance now of reaching the promised land.

Its still been a weird season

  5. We've had lengthy injuries to Sainz, Sarg and Rowe, yet all have done fantastically well and Sarg, Sara n Rowe have 12+ goals.each. Sainz has scored some beauties

Weve had a dire spell where literally any other club would have sacked their manager based on performances. Little old.Norwich stuck with Wagner.

We finally got rid of Webber after the longest of departures, and i cant tell if its Knappers arrival, the return of player or somohow Wagner that.has seen our upturn in results 2nd half of the season.

And we're mathmatically in the playoffs without playing well, and yet now in 5th because of other teams performing worse.

I cant see.us winning the playoffs yet its the sort of season where we'll do just that.

And after all this there's something in me that still can't get behind Wagner totally

If Plymouth can put 6 past us on a bad day, who knows what Brum could do if we have a bad day too?

All those saying it’s done and dusted seem to forget football can have a nasty habit of biting you on the a*** if you are not on your game.

It’s over to the master tactician to park the bus I suppose 🤣🤣🤣

And Fulham also shipped 6 past us on the final day as well. It's squeaky bum time. Brum will be right up for it. I don't think it's done and dusted by a long shot, with our away form!

  7. For me it depends whether there were or are any truth in Knapper going back for Cuesta. Its that once opportunity to get someone in for their 1st managerial appointment before/if they go onto bigger things. End of season presents that opportunity if CC wants to leave Arsenal to try his own path

Offside. Looked off at first glance. Was clearly off on review. Would also have been chalked off at the other end. Also, did Cov a favour as they would have got pumped 10-0 in the final. They should stop crying and move on.

You must be one of the very few to use the words "clearly" offside, even after review 😅

  9. I don't mind EPL and major Euro leagues having VAR. They are welcome to it. Let the big boys battle it out.

But imo VAR has destroyed the spirit of the FA Cup, where the minnows get to take on the giants in a 90min game. It's grass roots football verses the mega millions. Where lower leagues never get to expereince VAR, then it should be played in a neutral way, by that I mean without the technology, and just the officials officiating. That's what makes the FA Cup special. That's what minnows and lower league teams are used to.

Where technology made a decision about mere millimeters, in less than a split decision, in the final minute of extra time destroyed the magic and spirit of the FA Cup yesterday. If it was left to the officials neither the linesman or the Ref flagged/blew for offside, and thus technology ruined one of the most deserved and greatest comebacks ever known in the Cup's history.

The mind races. Knapper clearly thought it was a good signing. But did Wagner. As evidently he doesn’t believe SVH is up to it. So is he worse in the flesh. Or did Knapper lumber him upon Wagner, convinced he knew better. It doesn’t bode well for the summer.

Not really. We can't judge Knapper on a solitary signing that the manager simply won't give any game time. Equally for every Buendia or Sainz, Webber brought in some right duffers (Forshaw springs to mind) and Sarg looked pretty awful when he arrived but has developed really well.

SVH might come good, in time, and if played, but then again he might disappear quickly to another club come the summer. Wagner may or may not stay, and Knapper may or may not seal some real gems.

It's been a strange season, and I'm looking forward to how the summer unravels, Knappers first real window for us

  11. It doesnt add up. If he's looking unfit or not up.to standard Wagner wouldnt put him on the bench.

Seems childish to agree to put him on the bench and not play him, but thats Wagners perogative.

Maybe all is not well behind the scenes between K and W, but citys good results and holding onto that playoff position mean W is still in the hot seat.

Then again we have a paper thin squad

  12. Well he's said in today's presser SVH has impressed in training, so it's even more mind boggling why he's not given him more minutes.

But then DW says the performances are all great, when we all think otherwise, so who knows.

With Sarg looking doubtful for Preston, if he doesn't get on it will be ridiculous
