"Think they should be moved to the N&P upper."Great Idea when the have emptied their bottles, rubbish and cant be arsed to go to the loo ! -
CrabbyI would guess that Lambert didnt leave us "so quickly"...I would guess he knew LLOONNGGG before that fatefull day. I am sure he did think about Cully but in the end didnt give a damn only about himself. We will never really know (until his autobio at the age of 41) the truth. -
Fair point Sparrow...put another way, in todays era would we have a Martin Peters, Martin Oneill, Micky Channon even think about playing for Norwich. We werent the biggest payers but we would have been a damn slight closer to the wages offered by the "big" clubs of those days. -
Now theres a point...Lambert getting all the grief and backlash while ive hardly heard Cully get any rap.My understanding was always that cully was the one who drove the training (along with others) and Lambert was the one who got all the gloryThe question , is Ians heart in it the same way as at Norwich ? -
To be fair Hog he was saying all these things and that we are the worst Premier League club ever since the 1st game of the season and without any credit during the run or when we beat Man U and arsenal. I do understand why people dont like the guy and as pointed out...there is an off button. -
Look at it from the refs point of view...one chance to make the call and I felt at the time the Jonno tackle was a foul and was very surprised we didnt get it. (esp eariler in the game when a Ref sometimes likes to try to stop it before it gets out of hand) To me,yesterday on first viewing was as bad as the one on jonno. We can discuss this 1 foot/2 feet, airbourne/ not airbourne got the ball didnt get the ball etc etc but if we and pundits cant agree after several replays and angles then what hope has a ref got.I like to see a good old fashion tackle, however you just cant go in like that anymore under the current rules or should I say interpetations. I wouldnt have lasted 10 minutes in any match in my playing days if the current guides were in force. I would always go for the ball and if I took the man then fine, it WAS a mans game.Man City are said to be considering appealing, and why not went they could use the Jonno tackle as an example as to why it shouldnt stand. -
NCFC4LIFE, You know the inner workings of the contract I assume as you seem pretty sure of the facts....None of us know what was in the contract and if he was even allowed to speak or not.The last story I heard was that he asked permission to speak to Villa and our chairman said he would come back off holiday(or business) to discuss this and Lambert felt that he didnt want to wait for the chairman to get back and buggered off.He didnt need to go through the public slagging match he did. If he had permission in his contract he was entitied to talk. However I think an HONOURABLE thing to do is at least request that permission face to face with the Chairman and not go running off and not try to diddle your currewnt employees out of their entitlement.I dont think anyone would begrudge him of his bonus, he earnt it, on the other hand NCFC had every right to expect compo from Villa who tried to hide behind a "breach of contract" to avoid it. Lets all be thankful for his time here , but he now manages a rival and feelings towards him are the same that we all feel for Fergie, Wenger and other managers, okay maybe a little more spicey but he wouldnt expect any different. -
Bigger they should be with the population within an hours drive... and yes agree he had taken us as far as HE could and we now have someone better to take us on.Nothing against him, just the way he handled himself when he left. We and the villa fans knew he was on his way to Vile at the last game of the season. If anything I felt he had his sights too low by going for Villa. As for "Sleeping Giant"....just like Leeds, Wolves, Bradford Burnley...do I need to go on. -
"we have conceded some really soft one''s like the one at home to QPR for example "And what pratt was the Ref then !! -
Paul"If that had been a foul on Holt" we certainly would not have got it...in fact it would have been a foul the other way. -
"Nothing says the game has to be stopped other than a SERIOUS or HEAD injury"I agree is doesnt, Tets was flattened by Cole and the way Cole landed on top of him I was surprised that Clatberk didnt stop the game straight away as it could have very easily being a serious injury, he was close enough to see it for christ sake,This is the same Berk who allowed Zamora to be practically holding hands with the Penalty taker before scoring the rebound against QPR, a game where once again he didnt cover himself in glory.I bet you if Holt played yesterday he would not have got 1 penalty for the several times that he will be held in the same manner. It is hard enough to get something out of a game when you arent playing well without a ref like Clattenberg doing his usual display of an attention seeking arsenal. -
I am sure that Chrissy H had a chat with Neal R and the medical team before letting them go out on loan. They both need games under their belt ,not just for fitness but confidence and they werent gonna get that here were they ? -
Snodgrass''s crosses from set pieces was top drawer vs Spurs. CH might be swayed.
I agree which was unlike when he came on against Vile. Not just Snoddy but others did seems to be over hitting (more than normal) Just curious as I havent seen it mentioned but I noticed a few minutes before the game last week they were talking about the ball. I couldnt hear as I had it on my phone with volume down (something to do with being at work). Was this comments on how the ball could fly different or something ? -
I seem to recall he was he on loan with view to a move at the end of the season (not sure if that when contract expires) .The fact he is enjoying himself here is fantastic news and can hopefully mean a perm signing. -
At least when a Norwich I could just about worked out what he was saying, must be a bit of Brummie creeping in, couldnt understand a word. -
Whenever I see Clattenberk in any game there are always 2-3 things that leave me shaking my head in wonder. The QPR game at FCR he missed some big calls and the Pen which he missed 2 QPR players almost holding hands at the spot when the ball was kicked. After that game I was shocked he was back on the PL round before Christmas.Hopefully his comments to Mata (was it?) will mean he wont be refereeing again soon. The booking for diving is something that seems to be very popular at the moment, but reputation seems to 80% of the decision which is why Holty doesnt always get was he deserves when battered all over the park. -
Holty did indeed kick the ball out. From memory they could have but would have kicked it out for a throw but didnt so Holty had to thus causing a break half way in their half to go all the way back to our keeper. -
Like watching the Ryder Cup and some idiot shouts "in the hole" on the Tee of a 550 Yd par 5 !!Never boo your own players, certainly not before a ball is kicked. When Turners name was read out there were a few grumbles around me which was understandable considering the start he has had.But we dont see him on the training ground and Im sure the international break gave CH and team a good chance to concentrate on defence. However, I feel Bassong is the difference, so far he has made everyone who has played next to him look a different player. -
True Morty...mind you they are good at throwing money away judged by the price of their Season Ticket. -
And nobody thinks its possible it could have come from the Arse supporters area ? -
This is getting silly, the whole board this morning seems to be filled with sensible posts...Our start has been tougher and luck hasnt been with us, I know you make your own luck, and sometimes the clearances arent placed well but always seems to fall to "them". With a couple of deflections that could go anywhere maybe Wes needs to ruffle the hair on a little green Irishman ! -
Could anyone confirm if this was the 1st Forum after PL buggered off. If so then is this the 1st chance in a informal meeting place for this to be discussed. Speaking to someone who was there it certainly it was only bought up and discussed towards the end. What would have been nice is for any hearing to be dealt with and the legal b0llacks to be sorted quickly so everyone can move on.It now comes out that PL felt let down , well PL now you know how we all felt when you decided to turn your back on NCFC. -
No chance. Thanks for the good times but there is such thing as being honourable. After what he did to Col Utd we all knew he would do it to us too. Ill always remember that sly little smirk on his face as he waved to the Col Utd fans when we played down there.Lets be honest , at FCR on the last game of the season there was a feeling he was the next Villa Manager. The Villa fans knew it, in our hearts we knew it (or at least it was goodbye) and PL knew it.The press knew it (Stuart Jarrold particularly getting under his skin)He is manager of a relegation rival and I hope he fails miserably at Villa. -
If Bassong isnt fit then it has to be Martin and Barnett, Russ proved himself very able in CB last year. As for Benno, I was surprised we didnt use him at RB more last year, he looked good when forced to play there last year and we did have one of our best ever "wingback" as coach.
When will we get a Penalty?
