  1. The caveat to this statement below is making the assumption we carry on with the self funding model:

I would rather go up, take the money and if we're blatantly going to be uncompetitive then play young players with the PR backing them up advising everyone of our strategy.  When I say the young players I don't mean 16 year olds but the Rowe's, Tomkinson's, Big Andy, Sara, Nunez, Sargent, Gunn etc. With two or three Hanley types for guidance.  If we need to spend, spend on players who are too good for The Championship but not quite good enough for the PL.

I think this will benefit the club far more in the long term because the young players will improve rapidly and one or two of them will either be sold for large fees or they'll hopefully be too good for The Championship when we get relegated again.  The proceeds from the sales will fund the next years campaign.

  2. Pukki, Sargent and Idah cannot play in the same team together. Best to go back to basics, play Pukki up top on his own and have the other two on the bench. If we don’t get promoted Pukki will be off thus promoting Sargent to top striker for next season.

If we continue as we are we’re in for a painful end to our season in my view.

Yep, that's exactly what I've done!

Krul has now been given the shirt (mainly I think because of his experience, character and ability to organise the defence rather than being 'the better goal keeper'..if that makes sense?).

But if he does start making stupid mistakes then he gets dropped and Gunn is given another go to fully claim the No1 shirt for good.

Being a good shot stopper does makes you a good keeper, just look at Andy Marshall.

  4. I think it’s great when so called big clubs get relegated. Everton fans always go on about their history but the last time they did anything worthwhile was in the long and distant history. A large chunk of their fans weren’t born when they last won a major trophy.

Let’s enjoy them slowly get relegated.  Watch their fans being driven into a deep despair week after week.

The other Championship clubs will benefit financially from Everton having a spell in this division. It also give another club the chance to make it in the PL rather than the usual old boys club.

Be bold, go get Wenger. Save money on Webber’s wages by sacking him and let Wenger restructure our club and youth policy to make it bullet proof for the next 20 years.

I appreciate he’s getting on a bit but if we can get a couple of years out of him before he moves upstairs and grooms someone to take over. What do you think?

Wenger can groom someone like Zimmerman to take over.

  7. It’s amazing how things can change in 3 matches. Prior to Sargent’s recent goal fest I wonder what people’s views were on his valuation. Fast forward 3 matches and it seems like he might be the next big hit and he’s only 22.

I always thought there’s a player in there somewhere it was a case as to whether he would get the opportunity to display his talents fully.
