The frightening thing is that he is one of ITFC''s brightest fans! He can use a computer and speak in full sentences (of sorts) and is generally regarded as a "boff" by other fans! -
I heard him on a radio show at some stage in the last year and he came across as a a nice bloke. He gets carried away at matches but then so do we - I wouldn''t want to be judged on what I said and did at games! -
Don''t know how many, but I was told that there weren''t many left for "outside." -
Whilst I don''t disagree with the main thrust of the argument that Lambert has assembled a good squad quite cheaply, it is misleading to look simply at transfer fees. In most cases, the transfer fee is a smaller part of the deal that brings a player to a club. If a "cheap" player signed for £100,000 but was on a three year package of say £4,000 a week, the £100, 000 rises to to £700,000 and this is before any bonuses, agents or signing on fees. Wages not transfer fees are really the key part of the deal. -
We should end the loan and call him back. -

I looked him up. His last game was for Wales against England! He was injured and never recovered."A Welsh international (8 caps), David''s career came to a premature end in May 1978 whilst representing Wales against England."http://www.ex-canaries.co.uk/players/jones.htmHucka - I was only a kid at the time but I remember him as a good player. -
Chunky - didn''t David Jones play against England whilst at Norwich? -
Thanks - it was interesting. -
I wonder if we will have the the usual clamour from some quarters for him to be our next manager? For some reason, he is highly rated by some on this board. -
1,2,3 - I''d really love it if this were right but I think we will find that "money talks." Lawyers will find some clause that can be interpreted in a particular way and the FA will worry about getting tied up in litigation etc. -
Given the financial backing that QPR have they have access to lawyers that could run rings round the FA. It''s money rather than justice which is likely to be the determining factor - we''ve seen that many times! -
Two points:1. He has come on and done what was asked of him on more than one occasion in a short career. He has given us extra physical presence when needed and given us an extra option when trying to move the ball forward quickly.2. He is likely to get better as he becomes more acquainted with the players and gets used to the extra pace in the championship. He has played most of the season at League One level and it is reasonable to expect him to need a bit of time to fully adjust.I suspect that like Nelson - "he does what it says on the tin!" -
But it would be good if we could get him back though! -
YC referred to him as the "huckerby of league 1." Does anyone know how good he is? I have to be honest, I had never heard of him before we became interested. -
Trouble is that all of this is based upon what people have reported on blogs and internet sites. Hardly reliable is it? Imagine an article by someone in say the US about the population of Suffolk having done an internet trawl including this site! Sorry not very convinced. -
Applaud - we have no reason to dislike him. Cost us nothing, played well for us and we got about £7 million from his sale as far as I can recall. Great player who annoys many of the football media establishment, which is another plus in my book. -
Perhaps negotiating a new deal? -
Staying - for the moment... -
I can see where the OP is coming from - he could have squashed all rumours had he wished to.Part of a renegotiated contract ploy? -
Yes it is interesting - thanks! -
Thanks Purple. I am still not really clear on why they should make this move, however. -
Purple - I accept that I am probably reading too much into this and my judgement is being clouded by optimism. I am not sure, however, why existing share holders would wish to give up the chance to expand their own allocation. What is the danger to them? -
Purple - the interesting thing is why the (possible) new investors are keen to prevent other existing shareholders from expanding their allocation of shares. I am probably reading far too much into this, but the inference that I am making is pretty obvious.
