The new Danny Baath
-
Gunn has delivered this point - made heavy weather of it today against a hard working Bristol side

7 goals in 10 games for Celtic
12 goals in 99 games for Norwich
is it an easier league- or did he just need more minutes? Answers on postcard…
And will he want to return? I doubt it

Great player in his prime but his game relied on pace to account for his sometimes poor positioning and errors. That pace has gone/is going…might give us one or two seasons as backup but I fear best days are now behind him. We shall see- hope he proves me wrong

I have zero evidence here- so just a hunch; but I wonder if DW was cross at Idah’s loan and has refused to play SvH as a bit of a sulky point to be made in protest?
Why else hasn’t he featured when we are crying out for a striker sub??!

Why we did not sign someone who has a bit of pace with Energy someone who maybe not as be as good as Sarge but same style ,
plays the same way as Sarge so we could like for like replacement even without sarges goals would have been better than someone not playing
We do have options, the problem is a manager who refuses to trust in them. He did it with Baath earlier in the season- couldn’t buy a start despite having proved himself player of the season for his club in the same division only last year. Now it is Sydney’s turn to be totally insulted by being left on the bench when Gibbs - a defensive midfielder- is chosen to start ahead of him up front. He must be wondering why he bothered coming here- and so should we. Then we have frozen out youth who might have broken through like Aboh. Is the squad thin - certainly- but not as thin as it is being made by a manager who pretends lots of them don’t even exist
NB: apologies - I replied to wrong post! I wanted to reply to one saying we had thin squad.

It’s weird- I wonder if it’s partly money related because he seemed ok - not wonderful but ok- in cameos where he played

Swapping idah for SvH looks an awful bit of business thus far. Hope it isn’t a sign of things to come

Poor window and a poor tactical manager. Gibbs for Sarge was always leaving us short up front which would enable them to come at us

Lost our attacking impetus after Sargent went off.
If SVH wasnt signed to be used in a situation like this ,what was he signed for?
Either serious questions must be asked of Wagner...or Wagner must be asking serious questions of the board and recruitment dept
Which is it?
Both. He’s a nice bloke but an awful in game manager - his blushes saved by a rampant Sarge. Our squad is bereft of quality outside the starting XI and last summer was a poor window
-
I called 2-2 at half time - we are our own worst enemies and the game management from Wagner has been poor. Biggest 2 points dropped I have ever seen.

Make that make sense? Surely Sydney for Sarge not a CDM??!!

Wednesday have woken up- and we look awful this half. We have to go for it and not sit back - Gibson gifted them the ball a minute ago

How is that yellow- he was in a goal scoring position

I do think today showed up our tactical naivety. Why defend against a team with a great attack but less good defence? Should have gone at them. For me the return of Sarge took spotlight of the manager and saved his blushes - but today showed it didn’t improve him in terms of subs and tactics. Though, to be fair, our bench offers little by way of match changing promise…

Firstly there is not too much Wagner can do once the players are in the pitch. I expect the fans of Cov, Preston and even WBA will be complaining about their respective defeats. It happens. For every Hull away there is often a Boro away.
Wagner and the coaching staff have taken us from 17th to a play off place. Today was always thought the hardest of the final 8. The bollox about Leicester low in confidence is just that....bollox. We travelled to Cardiff (Nov) having managed 1 point out of the previous 18 so theoretically we were 'low on confidence' and we were subsequently............ err, we won. All runs come to an end, and previous games are never any real indication of how the following game will be, unless you are completely ****.
Leicester players (ex Pl, many) have not gone away. They were runaway leaders not long back. Look at their bench compared to ours today. We've cobbled together a side of Duffy, Barnes and Stacey, plus low fee players with a couple of freebies thrown in. Undoubtedly the usual malcontents will whinge about that, but needs must. And far from steadying the ship for a season the coaching staff have actually got them working as a tight-knit squad taking us to the play offs.
Today was not the end of the world, as some on are whining. But it does indicate (on this forum) where loyalties lie with a number on here - and it is not in NR1.
As for me, we are still the same (Hull ?) for 6th place, only one less game to go.
Sargent - not Wagner- has taken us from 17 to play off place. Wagner was flapping about in 17 making awful subs and playing strange tactics when Sarge returned from injury to save his blushes

Woeful today after a really good run. We psychologically lost before we kicked a ball by giving them too much respect and trying to defend all match.

Just now, Creedence Clearwater Couto said:We have basically our strongest 11 out. I don’t rate Wagners in game management, but what options does he have to improve this? Leicester are much superior.
Didn’t have to play so very negatively- that allowed them to attack - which they are good at- and took the focus and pressure of their defence- which has been questionable- really bad tactical approach.
-
If we don’t attack what’s the point?
-
We are showing them FAR too much respect.
I stand by my belief that we have a very poor manager whose deficiencies were highlighted when Sarge was injured but hidden once he returned, simply because against lesser teams he makes the difference. No game plan here and far, far too negative- 1
