No chance but of similar importance to the team.

He's their Kenny McLean. Seen plenty of their fans suggesting he should have been in the EFL team of the year.

Long would have been crucified for that!
I've not seen a replay but he hit it so hard there wasn't exactly an abundance of time to react. He'd have also been expecting him to go across the goal.

Kenny won it because on a metaphysical chiropractic level he is the embodiment of a team facing adversity and coming out on top (most of the time). I think he's been been more obviously 'good' on the pitch too with his surging runs and playing in various positions. I think a lot of people hadn't noticed how good Kenny is at knitting together a team prior to the last 2 seasons.
He mostly won it because of the metaphysical chiropractic stuff though.

A broken clock maybe but he's correct. People do tend to forget and forgive Kenny's 5-6/10 games, like today. Take out Sara's goal and assist and he still had a miles better game than the mayor, and there will have been plenty of other cases like this.
Unlike a lot of people I rate McLean more as a player more than I do a leader, of course I don't have a Mensa level football IQ like a lot of our fanbase.

You should be exiled from Norfolk for this post.

Binner.
Would take them over Leeds any day of the week in the playoffs. Rutter, Summerville, James, Bamford, Gnonto and Piroe is significantly more threatening than anything the scum can field.

At least we got to see the mayor play, right? 😉

Thought he started the 18/19 season really well. His pairing with Tettey had really started to flourish before his injury.
Underrated imo. People didn't like what he did with his shorts or his vegan diet or whatever.

Kenny Mclean.
Has gone from wildly underrated to wildly overrated.

All the more deserved for some of the abuse he has received over the last few seasons.
I'll admit I don't go to away games these days. However I do still watch those games and would still say that Sara is by far the more impressive player. Take the many goals and assists out of it they're still relatively similar, versatile players.

1 minute ago, littleyellowbirdie said:I think Sara would win player of the last half season, but he has grown a lot this year; I think overall Kenny does merit it more when considering the whole season.
I think he started and finished well. Dipped in the middle a little where he was clearly 'doing a job' for the team in the deeper role.
McLean is getting it because he's the mad dog 20/20 tm mayor of Norwich and it's a lifetime achievement. Ironically I think he should have got it last year over Sara.
-
If Sara was British he'd have won it because he'd get a PASHUN bonus.
Not to downplay Kenny's performances (top 4 for sure) but take him out and we adapt. Take Sara out and we're screwed.

1 minute ago, Satriales said:What does his role actually do?
His role is pretty all encompassing, overseeing all aspects of the academy and youth development. From getting young players into the building right through to transitioning them into the first team or selling/loaning them out (alongside the SD/loans manager) and everything in between.
Big role to replace and one that is important for Knapper to get right. Wonder if this change is to do with Knapper wanting to change things or it's just his time to move on. Probably the latter based on comments from ZW in the article.

Because it's the end of the season and things are happening?

Ah, very good. Think I was basing that off the initial report of his contract extension.

Pretty sure we don't.

3 minutes ago, Midlands Yellow said:£10m for Rowe would be a steal for any buying club. I’d hope for near double that with many add ons.
Only a year left on his contract so I think he goes below value. Although I guess Max Aarons went for around 7 and he's a few years older and a fullback. Guess it'll come down to if more than 1 club are interested.

I'd quite like to see a wider stats comparison between McLean and Sam Morsy considering how many scummers have been saying he should have been in team of the year. Apparently Kenny is better than him ad doing the thing Morsy is know for,

3 minutes ago, Ulfotto said:Sorry I can’t resist you mean a tackle?
That's a part of it I'm sure but there's more than 1 way to win the ball off an opponent. I don't know the model they're using but if they were measuring tackle success rate they'd probably call it 'tackle success rate'.
Is this stuff something the every day fan needs to know? Absolutely not. Do some find it interesting. Yes.
Should McLean have won player of the season?

On the metaphysical chiropractic level he 100% deserved it over Sara.
