And Man Utd fixtures are important to the local economy in Manchester, loads fly in from Ireland and beyond, and Asian tourists buy tickets, Manchester hotels get booked out for Utd home games. So we should be overall supportive of the idea of England having a Northern base.

..... I remember a game at CR against Man U, 10 minutes from the end the announcer came on to inform the visiting fans that the last train to London was at 6.20, or whatever, a huge cheer went up....

Manchester United are a franchise, as you've pointed out, a large proportion of their fanbase are not from Manchester they could play anywhere and sell out.... we don't need to be financing another stadium in Manchester..

I'd be more inclined to build something in Birmingham,  our second City, large population,  plenty of Clubs to use it, concerts etc and with Villa becoming a force again perhaps that could be a way forward. Regards England,  it's more central for players and fans alike.....

  2. Never forgave Hodgson for not picking Holty for the Euros in 2012, Rooney was banned for the first 2 games and Holt was the next highest scorer in the Premiership that season, 17 I think, instead he took Andy Carroll who had scored 5 and spent most of the season on the bench at Anfield..... unsurprisingly we never got out of the group.

Unknown entity in the first half of the season too, now every opponent you face knows what you are about having already played you and will set up accordingly.

I'd rather think that seeing us sort em out on TV showed the rest of the Division that they can be got at.

S'funny, their form has gone off a cliff since we played them.....

Not really bothered about their progress from here, they are flying and will probably come to CR in a similar league position. However, hopefully by then we will be back firmly in the playoff spots and have our full team available. If so we will smash them

Alternatively, we may have shown the rest of the division that they can be got at. By their own admission, they don't have much below their first 11 and if they get the sort of injuries we've had, they could be in freefall.

We're only 5 points shy of the play off places despite our challenges, there are plenty of past examples that show a play off place, or even a top two finish is within reach...... not saying it's going to happen, just that it's possible.....

By April, we could both be in very different positions...... can't wait.

Yes, what an achievement!! Buying the best players available, riding roughshod  over FPP. Bunch of sore losers, sad entitled overpaid Wayne Kerrs.  What an achievement. Like a rich kid buying the best sweeties , I bet they are so proud of their  achievement.

Didn't say that I approved, but when you win everything, there comes with it a level of expectation (entitlement)

They continue to be proof positive, that money buys success. Pretty much what the Premiership is all about.....
