Always an interesting topic this one. Recalling the building of the current Barclay end, the away fans were originally housed in the top tier, but this was problematic due (at the time) to reasons such as spitting on the home fans. Also, atmosphere wise, perhaps not the best idea.
However, we can never reach our (just over) 26,000 capacity currently due to segregation. So, taking that point first, with the current ground, could we go back to using the top tier of the Barclay, allowing the whole of the South stand to be home fans? Good stewarding may permit this, at the expense of atmosphere perhaps. Nevertheless it could be done - even on a flexible basis to get all seats filled/sold.
While thinking of atmosphere, why couldnt away fans be accomodated in the top tier of the River End - therefore guarenteeing some noise from that part of the ground and maybe encouraging Norwich fans around them to get a bit more vocal too. Just a speculator for the sake of being given twenty reasons why not.
In terms of a capital project, the hotel Infill appears to be the cheapest option.Any further building work/ground reconfiguration should be saved for our return to the Premiership, the summer between our first and second season.

Yeh, it wasnt obvious how to walk from the middle of carlisle to the ground at all. I suppose its not much different in Norwich though - the ground isnt signposted from the city centre either. -

Rovers are desperate for a Striker, Lawrence wants one or two in before 9th January. Cureton had an excellent goal scoring record for Rovers and scored against Rovers at CR earlier in the season.

Just looking back through this thread and specifically the mention of Bristol Rovers, some viewers may be interested to know that Lennie Lawrence (Director of Football at Bristol Rovers) was in the Directors box at Carrow Road on Boxing day.

Ah, the says of Roy Waller''s commentaries, only live for the second half, even at home games...
Anyway, the commentator last night often said ''once again'' at times where it wasn''t necessary - I mean there are lots of throw ins to either side but no need to say ''once again'' after each one.
And maybe it was just me, but when Doherty scored, the way the commentator had described it (not knowing the name of the scorer) led me to believe for a while that Southampton had scored. As a Radio Norfolk listener since 1988, the Chris Goreham, Neil Adams combination is ''choice''.

Makes a strangely interesting read! Anyway, SPL is more specific and states:
"Seating
All SPL clubs must have, by no later than March 31 preceding any season and for the whole of that season, a stadium with no less than 6,000 covered seats for spectators."Which has led to a few issues over the years.

Went to the league game a few weeks ago and i''ve decided to tell you about it (for anyone that cares)
Its a 5 hour drive from North Norfolk - quite straightforward, decided to stay the night at the Swallow Hilltop Hotel (over a mile from the city centre) and the ground is probably another half mile on from there. I was glad to be out of the way though as there was a fair old queue building on the way in, the grumpy old hotel manager man explained that he''d never seen it so busy (clearly taken by surprise by the travelling support). While i''m droning on about the hotel, i would recommend it for cheapness (£50 for a twin room) and the breakfast. The manager is a moron though and didnt think much of me trying to get in there before 2pm - he was hard work and even said that football wasnt a proper sport whilst motor sport was a real man''s sport. Berk.
Moving on swiftly, Brunton Park is a bit out of town but walkable - no signposts though & no crowd to follow really. You know all about the game so I wont mention it. Having read that there was a beer festival in town on this site, went to have a look at what was quite a poor effort. Again, they seemed to be surprised at the attendance, and were done by 8:30 - luckily I got a refund from the camra stereotype man for the vouchers i hadnt used. So sloped off for a few shandys at the wetherspoons close by, football shirts weren''t allowed so we went away and came back with our coats done up. Worked a treat.
Surprisingly, Carlisle was blessed with many drunk ladies.
