  1. Would be disappointing to see Nunez go as he only arrived last summer and has the potential to become great. Can’t see how this rumour is true though as he didn’t show any promises this season. If someone really has made an offer of about £17m for him though take it - I think he only cost us about £3.5m and there’s no certainty that he will become great

We’ve been told there will be a big rebuild this summer, we’re just getting started and this is all part of it.  Rather than concentrating on one or two players (who haven’t even signed yet), it might just be worthwhile looking at the entire squad once that rebuild is complete.   If we have a squad of 30+year-old crocks come August I’ll be on the frontline of people querying it, but we re absolutely nowhere near that.

I think I’ve read that we’re looking at making about 7 new signings. What we must remember though is that we mustn’t make too many because it can take time for the team to gel, which may result in a slow start to the season

We shouldn’t expect too much from Mumba too soon; he was fantastic in League One but it’s going to be a tough Championship, if not the toughest. Mumba will be a big part of our season, I’m sure of it. Having strength in depth for a 46 game season is essential.

I’m more interested in what it’s mean for the likes of Tzolis and Placheta.

Totally agree. Mumba has already made a few first team appearances for us, including one in the PL and has looked promising in all of them but really we need to view him in the same way we view Tomkinson

It’s the same with Rowe. Whilst he was out injured we were thinking that once he was back he should be in the starting XI but recently there’s been quite a lot of talk about sending him out on loan next season and really yes he should - he’s only made 18 first team appearances

  4. Looking at the players we’ve signed and been linked with gives me the impression that the club aren’t looking at just next season, but the next two seasons, targeting promotion next season then PL survival following season as a lot of the players we’ve been linked with have PL experience (Steer, Begovic, Stacey, Duffy, Davies, Barnes). In actual fact I’m also getting a horrible feeling that with Delia still in charge of the club if we did achieve promotion next season that next summer we may see the same thing happen that happened in 2019, although Attanasio might make a difference

  5. I wouldn’t go by what you see on the internet - one of those websites says Giannoulis is on £32k p/w, another £7.5k.There were even rumours that activating the extension clause on Pukki’s contract allowed him to retain his PL wages of supposedly £60k p/w

There’s been many rumours that Krul is on wages of about £40k p/w, which wouldn’t be surprising considering he was an experienced goalkeeper from an established PL side

  6. Would love to see both sides relegated to the Northern Conference League, but if the game did get abandoned due to a huge fan fight I think the most we would see is a replay behind closed doors (possibly abroad as well)

To be honest I would prefer City to win, as I would love to see the Manure fans’ reactions if they won the treble

I'll be honest and say I know very little about either, but the one thing I've moaned about is our signings always seem to be about the future. I'm glad we're starting to think about the now.

I had a look on Bournemouths FB page, they seem to think we've got a good signing here.

That’s good news. When the signing of Stacey was first announced was a lot of positivity on here until an article said that his career has been littered with injuries, giving some fans the impression that we’ve just signed another Sam Byram. However, he doesn’t seem to have a bad injury record and if the Bournemouth fans think we’ve made a good signing that’s positive

Also, Billy G had a much improved season, playing often in the best Brighton team in their history. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he is very good now is it?
I didn’t rate him at city, but DKs knowledge of his earlier potential is showing through, despite a lot of laughing and abuse aimed his way.

For a young player to develop, they usually need to play around a reasonably experienced squad which is probably why he failed with us - we saw that with Omobamidele this season (ok with Hanley/Gibson, poor with Sorensen)

  9. I do like the idea of signing these players. With not much money due to failing to win promotion we are looking for players, we are looking at free agents from other English clubs and so have good experience in the Championship, and also some in the PL

One free agent I don’t want us to sign though is Axel Tuanzebe. 25 year old CB from Man Utd who is horribly injury prone

  10. 27 years old with 61 Championship appearances and 29 PL appearances. From what Wagner’s said I think Mumba’s going to be first choice next season but it would be worth signing an experienced free agent as a backup. I think Stacey is an upgrade on Byram, as transfermarkt shows him as only having 3 injuries with their length being 41 days, 4 days, and 22 days long. No injuries listed for this season

He is out of contract June 2024. We either sell him, and then replace him. Or he signs a new contract

Which do you think is likely ?

Sell him. One year left and can’t see him signing a new contract. Will need to raise quite a lot more funds this summer than we spend, as we failed to go straight back up

Daniel Barden has come through difficult circumstances in his life. He is now 21. I think he must be considered as backup to Angus. McCracken is 23. Not young loanees anymore. They must be in consideration or clog up the sytem for the next ones coming through.

At 23 with very little experience, I can’t see McCracken coming through the youth ranks. Barden has certainly come through difficult circumstances, but considering he’s already 21 I think for him to come through the ranks he needs to go out on loan and get regular first team football next season, preferably no lower than the fifth tier. Need to send several of our youth keepers out on loan too

Why. Are we under some transfer embargo ? Duffy would be a good signing. Certainly fitsd in with the thought that we 'give it a good go' while we still have parachute money. Players with experience.

The young scots lad will join a long line of promising youngsters who have joined, then slipped away. However, there have been others who have succeeded, so here's hoping.

As we failed to go straight back up and get our final parachute payment this summer we will effectively be under a bit of a transfer embargo this summer - I think we’re going to see a summer similar to that of 2018

  14. Johnston has been linked with some PL clubs as well, so I don’t think we’ll sign him. Wouldn’t say no to Stacey or Manning as they’re experienced players so should fill in the departure of Aarons and also let us sell Giannoulis, who only has one year left
