I do believe that Wigan will leave the Etihad with nothing tomorrow. They also will have fixtures closer together as they have 3 more games to play than us - including the FA Cup Final, a distraction for them. More games also means more chances for injuries, fatigue and suspensions. -
I totally agree with you CJ + ICF. The ref doesn''t give it because they are both shirt pulling. The lino gives it because he can only see Kamara. When the ref had the better view it drives me up the wall that he accepts the lino''s desicion -
West also isn''t in a Premier League game either -
When I saw it on MOTD the picture was from the ref''s angle. Giroud is also pulling Kamara''s shirt which is why I think the ref didn''t give the penalty. The reason I reckon the lino gave it was because he can probably only see Kamara. -
I believe we can do it against Reading. Ok they held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw but they were at home and Liverpool aren''t as strong as they were a decade ago (outside the top 4). We lost 3-1 at Arsenal by conceding 3 goals in the last 10 minutes but that was due to injustice. Despite losing we did play well though considering that we were winning until the 85th minute away to a team that has only slightly dropped in form over the last decade (still do well in the league but inability to win trophies). Only Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea have won at Carrow Road this season and Reading have the worst away record of the Premiership -
SurviveYes we are at threat but look at QPR and Reading. 15 points left, and 7 points adrift of safety. I see both going down.Yes we could join them, but other possibilities I see could be:Newcastle - P33, Pts36, Tim Krul out for rest of seasonSunderland - P33, Pts34, New manager but Steven Fletcher and Lee Cattermole out for rest of seasonStoke - P33, Pts34, Have picked up just 5 points from their last 10 games. We haven''t done much better but at least we''ve picked up 9Aston Villa - P33, Pts34 Aren''t doing to bad but still have to play Man Utd and Chelsea. Wigan - P31, Pts31 2 games in hand and also the FA Cup final so their games will be closer together. Well known for their end of season form but more fixtures = more chances for injuries, fatigue, suspensions -
I hope Wigan don''t get anything from those games but lets not forget what Wigan are known for doing towards the end of the season. Man City are also playing Chelsea in the FA Cup today, and if they lose it might help Wigan out. Spurs have also dropped in form as Bale is out injured. I see the Sunderland - Everton game as an away win though -
Hopefully he will be back. I do believe that his absence is linked with our poor form due to the time when he got injured and when we lost our good form -
That linesman should switch to non-league football. All the "big" teams play in the Premiership, so he wouldn''t have to do any more favours for them.If the penalty hadn''t been given I''m convinced we would have got something out of the game, probably 3 points and the double over the Gunners -
I do see CH as decent manager. He''s signed some great players, and let''s not forget that log unbeaten run we went on earlier this season. I do believe that our drop in form is linked to Ruddy''s injury. -
Holt was great last season but has dropped in form this season - Snodgrass has scored more goals than him. Holt is also ageing and will probably be a bench warmer next season which is why RvW has been signed. Holt has been horribly aggressive, and I also believe he is a diver. I hate diving, as not only is it unfair on the opposition, if the ref believes you''ve dived you go into the book, and which increases the risk of getting marching orders. It is why I also think that over celebrating and time wasting is stupid. -
I''ve always hated Arsenal and I want them to finish outside the top 4 this season. I think we will lose but not get thrashed. If we did get something out the game all the Spurs fans would love us. -
I agree too. Tettey played really well with Johnson. Howson, despite playing with Johnson at Leeds, just isn''t good enough. -
Reading is a must win game in my opinion, they have picked up just 5 points away this season, scoring 13 and conceding 32. Ok, they do have a new manager now but I personally think that it''s too little too late for them now. Their next game after us is at home to QPR, which I reckon could be a decider. -
I do have belief that we can win this one. Swansea don''t have a great away record and have lost their last 3 games. The last team to beat us in the league at home was Man City. Our poor run of form also started shortly after we lost Ruddy, and he should be back soon. Tettey is also back from injury. I''m confident we can get something out of this game. -
Considering he had no experience I was very impressed with Grant''s performance as a manager, and I would rate him first out of the Grant/Roeder/Gunn management. IMO Roeder was the worst, simply because he had Premier League experience but didn''t do much better than Gunn -
We''re 9 points clear of the drop and I''m confident that we will stay up, though you can''t said it for certain yet. Looking at our remaining fixtures we still have Wigan (a), Reading and Villa (H). These are all teams below us in the league, though Villa are starting to improve and beat us 4-1 in the cup at Carrow Road. Reading though are in very poor form and I''m confident of a win against them. -
We aren''t in a relegation battle but I do still it as possibility for us. We are currently 9 points clear of the drop, though Wigan have a game in hand but are still in the cup. The fixture list for next weekend does look positive for me though. Villa v QPR and Wigan v Newcastle - a draw won''t be very effective but defeat could have big consequences on Villa, QPR or Wigan. Southampton host Liverpool and Reading go to Old Trafford. If we win at Sunderland I think we will have done enough because of how the results would probably turn out -
Personally I feel we didn''t deserved to lose 4-0 yesterday. We didn''t concede until first half stoppage time and the second the 76th minute. The third and fourth came 3 minutes from the end and stoppage time, by which time we had run out of steam. So we clearly worked hard to hold them up. -
If we mustn''t mention Lambert at all why not:Happy birthday Chrissy!Happy birthday Chrissy! You''re doing a fab job here!Happy birthday Chrissy! -

How about "we forgot that you were here" cue everyone pointing at him.
I like that.
Me too -
I am horribly worried about the cup affecting our league performance - we saw what happened to Leeds in our League 1 season. When Premier League Birmingham won it 2 years ago, there was a Championship side playing in the Europa League next season. 2 years go the scum reached the semis, but looked like they were heading to League 1 until they got knocked out. I actually wouldn''t have been at all bothered if Spurs had knocked us out -
"There''s only one Chris Hughton, there''s only one Chris Hughton" to the tune of you don''t know what you''re doing/the referee''s a wankeror...Paul Lambert, Villa bossHow are you feeling? You''ve left our club, for a different jobAnd now, we''re the bestYou''re the one Chris Hughton!A better football managerSteady on, here it comes and Villa''s going down!Chrissy! Chrissy! Chrissy! If you hadn''t already worked it out, to the chorus of On The Ball City -
Until he got injured Ruddy was joint top for the number of clean sheets this season. I might put Ruddy as the England No.2 but certainly not Butland. Butland is inexperienced in my opinion and also playing for Birmingham in the Championship, whilst Ruddy is playing in the top flight
One good thing pre-Reading is...
