  1. Sky were there last night but we can''t expect it to be top news for long as things move on. Disappointing about last night was when PL was talking on the balcony Simon Thomas talked all the way through his speech. Now as much as I like Simon Thomas, I''d much prefer to hear PL when he talks as those moments are alot fewer than the sky presenter.

  2. Am pretty sure that Clingan was very happy to stay but NCFC wanted to get him off the wage structure and use his fee to bring in players. I applaud him for his efforts as he always gave his all when wearing the shirt unlike some.

I also can''t imagine playing in the Roeder days were a great pleasure but Bell seemed to get out of the club as fast as he could. I could see why we would have a go at Marshall (D) as he was gone just as the season was closing but Clingan was one of the last to go.

  3. I think last night''s programme about football didn''t say anything that I found a shock. What it did fill in were the figures involved, West Ham paying substantial salaries to their players a few years ago. (some above have mentioned the amounts mentioned)

As regards to the involvement of Alan Sugar in the negotiating of the sky deal, it was bizarre he was allowed to vote seeing their was a conflict of interests. But to say the sky money is bad for the game or that they won the contract to me is short sighted.

After all was it not ITV who renegaded on their contract with the football league in 2004 which sent shock through football league clubs. Sky have never let football down in terms like these. What football does need to do is become better at housekeeping, as simple as not spending more than what they generate. I feel that Richard Scudamore and the Premier League have to set a precedence about financial issues in the game and be real.

I feel Lord Sugars comment about letting a football club go out of business to show the rest a lesson is only hard on one group of people which are the supporters. Perhaps the idea of relegating 2 divisions would be more of a lesson, after all Portsmouth were deducted 9 points which when you are bottom of the league (and looking to be relegated) means absolutely nothing.I would like football to take responsibility for their actions, when clubs go into administration they should not be allowed to ringfence their own interests when local companies go bust.

What I did feel was a great idea was to set up a Trust taken from the sky money for looking after special intersts or helping in special circumstances.

To bring it back to NCFC, I find it shocking how bad Doncaster run this club especially when we were in the Prem league in 2004/2005 and what state we were in when he left his role of C/E when we were relegated to League 1.

  4. I just thought that with both Hull and Portsmouth coming down last season with financial issues and Burnley sacking their manager mid season this had to be our best opportunity to gain promotion.

The relegation candidates this season will be better off financially and (Wolves, West Ham and Blackpool or Wigan) and with the other teams gaining momentum I reckon next season in the championship will be tougher still.

Also with PL''s stock rising by the month, it was going to be how long we could keep hold of him along with the financial situation at NCFC (not having alot of dosh really)

Well as we now know, we got promoted and I for one am looking forward to next season.

  5. Am I the only person who hopes that they get points deducted but still go up. My thinking is that this will stop both Welsh teams having the opportunity of getting promotion.

Cardiff have just shown pure arrogance saying that they were the best team in the league and Dave Jones needs to go on a humility course.

Swansea''s players celebrating the victory afterwards in the changing room the way they did and there keeper''s antics with Holt.

Also, working in Cardiff it just makes me chuckle inwardly alot....lol

  6. Well done to Vokes who looked like he was starting to enjoy his time here, thought he didn''t do much at Swansea (although it was a bad day at the office for all) but got a goal against Watford and was having a good brief spell last night too.

Thanks for your efforts and good luck for the future. Would be a good asset in the squad.

  7. Credit where credit''s due - I am one who has pointed the finger at Surmans last two performances but to show its its not all one way. Tonight I thought he was superb not just because of his goal but he put his foot into tackles which he hasn''t done in the last two matches.

Some of us see it like the game Catchphrase -  We say what we see...lol ;P

  8. MP - I understand what you are saying and over the season we have had a good one.If you''d have said ''Lets look at the bigger picture'' but you do say all of a sudden we''re rubbish, and to be pedantic over the last two games we have shipped in 5 goals, had two 1st halfs where we have lost it,defending has been poor and a midfield that has gone awol.

PL has said that at Watford he would have thrown tea cups if they were available, and at Swansea we lost it in the first half too. If PL has noticed this I don''t believe its unfair for the fans to notice this either.I believe we are facing a dip in form or we are just running out of legs for the season.

These players haven''t suddenly become bad players but something is a miss? Now I know I''ll be ridiculed for saying this but I only want promotion but sometimes you have to face the facts too. ;)
