  1. Have to agree that Martin has done well recently and his goal return in the last few games has been inspiring.

I feel that several points made are fair, he is not the best gifted player but he more than makes up with this by the effort and responsibility he takes when in the team. His passion for NCFC is above question and you could see his urgency to score goals and take more than his fair share to get us back into games when we are losing.

I wish a few more of our team showed his spirit we would be fairing better!

  2. People say the players want consistency from the referees but we don''t get consistent performances from the players either. Mistakes will happen in the game and we need to look at changing what we can change and dealing with the rest.

Did anyone see the ref in the WIgan v AVFC over the holiday period, shocking decisions were made that didn''t go Wigan''s way but they got on with it and got a positive result.

So it''s not only us who get these shocking decisions, we just failed to turn up in the first 45 minutes which compounded the issue.

Why are we not asking why Hughton left it so long to change it.

  3. I am not one of those blaming the ref either Bboy, we didn''t turn up for the first half.

I agree with your points and we have to stop looking to portion the blame on someone else. Like I said, we didn''t turn up as a team and what Hughton was doing with defence begs belief. Was Garrido really dropped to put more height in the defence, as from what I saw on MOTD they got behind us too easily,so much for height issues!!

  4. To be fair to the defence, our midfield yesterday was too lightweight.

As soon as Bradley came off we were struggling. How we play 3 creative players (2 wingers and Wes) when we needed a bit more muscle just baffles me.

Yesterday I saw Collins and Dunne who showed that committment that we seem lacking at times.

As mentioned earlier, we probably wouldn''t have picked Martin and Barnett as a central partnership but they are not doing the basics properly. Both Martin and Barnett should have put the ball into the stand yesterday but as they didn''t we conceeded goals 2 and 3.

  5. Wes is a creative player and yesterday''s midfield needed more of a physical element. If Wes doesn''t perform creatively we are one done in our midfield as he doesn''t bring that physical element to the midfield.

Yesterday he consistently lost the ball by either sloppy passing or just taking too long. PL should have taken him off earlier as he was in no-mans land in the game, that wasn''t the right game for him.We should have kept Bennett on and taken off Wes.

Lastly Wes is a good player but he needs to bring more to the Premiership.

  6. Zipper I totally agree the whole defence was problematic today and also we came up against a good strike force.

My point I was making was if we concede goals (which we will) we need to make sure our opponents have had to work for their advantage.Today I felt we handed too much on plate to them.

Would also like to see a leader in the defence, who keeps players on their toes if they''re not cutting the mustard.

Could we not tempt Tony Adams or someone of his class out of retirement..or just organise the defence?lol

  7. Having been to the game today at Villa Park, our achilles has to be our defending.

We create many chances and are scoring more than expected but when we give teams easy goals like we did today we don''t do ourselves any favours.

Our defence has to start to learn very quickly the basics and not repeating the same mistakes.

Barnett creates too many problems for himself and Ruddy has to be more commanding of his defence. What I''d do for another Steve Bruce or someone who commands the defence....time will tell.

  8. Have to say PL got it wrong today with Wes.

Even if we started with that team, we left Wes on the pitch for far too long. He gave away the ball too many times, wanted to beat too many players and ''dilly-dallied'' with the ball far too often.

Have to say we rallied when we got back to 3-2 but we can not defend how we did and give teams easy goals away.

We have to start to learn from our mistakes because at the moment we are making too many mistakes and putting ourselves under too much pressure without the opposition causing it.

  9. Johnson had a good game today, if we take your point that Fox was part of a promoted team why are we playing Da Laet?

Surman was truly pants today and he was part of a promoted team also, I would have started with Hoolahan before Surman.

Well done Johnson,he was controlling the passing in midfield more than Crofts. Fox also is too light weight in midfield too.

  10. John - Millwall fans judgement like any fans has to be taken with a large pinch of salt.....after all I recently watched a programme where Teddy Sheringham was berated by the Lion''s fans constantly. Well if Morrison can come anywhere near this player well I for one will be very happy.

I also think that alot of stuff within football never gets aired in public and PL is a shrewd character so knows what he is looking for within a person too. Remember he and Malky are very good friends too...I am sure stuff would have been discussed between them.

  11. Let us believe in Lamberts choice of a player, after all he has got a very good record of getting it right. I believe we aren''t after any stars, more like we need pieces of the PL jigsaw that all go together regardless of the way you fit them together.

Not singling any out when we were previously in the Prem, Johnsson (excuse spelling) promised so much but was never up to the fight. Helveg who was the national captain for his country and got picked to play was not making the Norwich team under Worthy...and he was a good servant when he eventually got put into the team. Francis at Fulham...need I say more...!!

This time around I believe in both the manager and the team he will assemble...OTBC

  12. I am so glad we managed to get up to the premier league this season . I said at the time that this was our best chance due to the teams relegated from the Prem last season who were suffering financially.

Portsmouth - Enough said on them

Hull -  Have to drastically reduce the wage bills

    Burnley - Prudence without ambition

When we look at the teams relegated yesterday we can see a different theme from the 3 above

Birmingham - I have a feeling the knives are out for Mcleish even though he has been told his job is safe but has to get them back into the Prem

WHU - Financially they are similar to Hull but their fans will not rest until back into the Prem. Gold and Sullivan (and Brady) have really made them a laughing stock

Blackpool - Depends on whether ''Olly'' can keep together the squad. No financial worries regarding debt, rumoured that all the players were on £10k approx

When you look at Forest, Southampton, Cardiff (not sure due to squad unloading), Reading/Swansea, Boro, Burnley, Leeds and others it does promise to be a strong league as well as an interesting one.

Thank goodness we did it when we did ;)

  13. We have witnessed the emotins many have been through at Fulham in 2005 so we know how it feels. But what do you think we will be feeling a year from today...will we be a Birmingham or a Wolves or a West Brom who were not even involved?

Now I am not trying to wish a year of your life away, but this funny old game evokes so many emotions.

    Well done to Sam Vokes....!!

  14. I not only lived just outside Birmingham but worked in Brum too, so had to face the office on the monday after the play offs. Boy did I get some stick so there is a god..lol

Have to say hate seeing the kids crying at the end....that never seems fair whichever team you support!!

  15. If CMS were to come to Norwich I''d bet PL will do his magic on him. What he brings to the table already is a great work ethic, a great team player who has no ego to boot. How much more could he unravel from the talent that is CMS. Remember R Martin was said to be no good at The Posh....so lets see what happens.

Let us remember what many were saying about Jackson and how he turned it around, I believe some should look at that example before saying CMS would not bring anything to the team. I trust in PL and seems he does have a good eye for a player!!

Lastly, it seems that Barry Fry is playing it differently than previously regarding CMS as he does seem alot quieter this time around. Does that mean its already a done deal?

  16. As good as PL is, I think too many people forget the influence Mr Mcnally has had in the success of PL. In my opinion if PL left it would be similar to the time when Mike Walker left to go to Everton and the rest is history.

Right now, Norwich and PL go together like ''fish n chips'' and for him to move especially to a club in turmoil like West Ham would prove to be suicide for PL''s career. Mcnally, works so well with PL whereas Gold and Sullivan seem intent on ruining a once decent club.

  17. Have to say the more I see of PL the more you have to admire in him. It was nice to see him have a laugh and joke with the players and that the players take it all too.

The bit about Holt, the comment about Lansbury''s dancing on the pitch,Martin and Crofts,Nelson, and Pacheco sense of dress (big issue seller) just showed the great spirit among the squad. I am always impressed at how he manages to include everyone and takes the limelight of himself.

It was great seeing that side of him and the bit about Culverhouse being pissed in Marbella too, sounded like a great night. ;)

  18. As good as the Premiership is, I don''t believe its as tough as when we were last up there. Let me explain the method of my madness, before I get shot down for my lunacy. ;)

We played teams like Arsenal and Chelsea, who beat us comprehensively and we looked like a rabbit is the headlights. This year Arsenal/Chelsea  haven''t been as dominant as what they were in 2004/2005 and the gap between top and bottom has actually closed.

You look at the top 4 as one league then the rest are a seperate league in my opinion whereas a few years ago there were three mini leagues within the Premiership.

The other main factor was that Worthington was not ambitious in games, to have gone the whole season without an away win showed the difference between Lambert and Worthington. Worthington''s away wins even in the championship was poor too.
