  1. Have to say I am disappointed with the transfer window from NCFC point of view.

This is the first time in many years that none of the teams relegated last season from the Premiership are in the top 6 due to their financial positions.

I don''t think we will have a better time to go for promotion than this season. We are so close and just need a few more goals which if they don''t come from Holty or Wes where will they come from.

  2. We did get a few goals from Malcolm Allen too GJL if I remember correctly, but you are right we were crying out for help to Flecky but it never happened.

I feel this time around we are more geared up to the footballing ambitions of the club and we will get to the promised land very soon.

  3. Good to see it back on, especially for those of us not in Norfolk. Matt Holland is better with Dion around, but they just need to relax more in front of camera.

Loved the bit were DD got MH to admit Norwich were the team going places,in the words of a credit card...Priceless.

You have to love Pete Winkleman as he just oozes enthusiasm and is so nice to other clubs.

  4. I believe a little more invention on saturday and if we had got an earlier leveller, then there would have only been one winner...us.

We have had too many games this season where we have over run teams only to come away with none of the spoils but we are a team thats very much going in the right direction. We do need to test the oppositions keeper more, as they say if you don''t buy a ticket you can''t win the lottery!!

Main concern is we can''t rely on Holty, Russ and Wes for the goals too much. Would like a few more to chip in.

Lastly, the passing on saturday was great. A few stray passes but at times it was just one way traffic, just need a little more end product which will come.

  5. Good post Jim Smith, would agree on most points.

I would however disagree with your comment about Cardiff being fortunate to have taken 4 points from us this season.

I feel Cardiff have more potency going forward and more of a cutting edge and defensively were very streetwise, especially the game at Cardiff where they took their chances clinically and threw themselves at the ball. We controlled the midfield but had no final product that day, to the point where 2nd half we never troubled their keeper.

You make a great point about Barnett where he was too far back to challenge Chopra and then left Ruddy unsighted but I am being very picky.

  6. Have to say I can''t take her seriously when I hear her commentary on any game. This is not a sexist thing, just she doesn''t seem to have great voive control and she seems to scream to show excitement.

She mentioned that Norwich hadn''t defended well in the first 10 mins even though Cardiff hadn''t scored yet...buy a new watch!!

  7. Norfolk Mustard - As it seems to some that its just a case of simple homesickness I understand what you are saying but until you know the full facts it is a little harsh suggesting what you have.

I am sure PL would have known Steven Smith prior to bringing him down or known of his character, so sometimes life isn''t black and white as you see it.

He looked capable when at Bristol City...

  8. Morning CUFCNYC,

Just thought I''d ask how you feel your season is going? Do you rate John Ward and what he is doing at the club?

Have to say I am not surprised that we are where we are (thats not arrogance either) as I feel the set up of Lambert and Mcnally (along with backroom staff) are a fresh outlook compared to a few years ago. We are actually taking the football side of things seriously compared to when Doncaster was Chief Exec.

How do you think your season will pan out?Good to have some sensible banter!!

  9. People should bear in mind that Cardiff fans coming all that way have fuel costs too...so along with relatively high ticket prices there''s the added costs. The best part of £80-100 per person including travel, ticket and food.

Also, being January some people are having to stretch the wages for 6 weeks having been paid early in December.

Lastly being on the telly on the Football League show.

  10. City til I die...yeh I also agree with you too as its a fine line between replacing someone and building them up and their confidence.

Both of us see 90 minutes of the game, but its what PL and his team see during the week as to who gets in the team.

I agree about Willbrahimavic will get us a few and he just needs a bit of time.

As they say there are many ways to skin a rabbitt and we both want the same thing at the end of the day too.

Good chatting to you my friend ;)

  11. Have to agree with Canarygirl totally, as Adam is picking up too many knocks now (he is getting on a bit now lol) and Lapps is a make shift replacement (great effort and attitude though).

I feel when we have Dury we are a better unit defensively and we need to concentrate more on keeping the clean sheets as we have goals in us at the other end. So anyone who can come in and fill that gap totally is a good addition.

I am sure we need someone else up front as my only blur on PL''s transfer raids has been the striking department. With Oli, Simeon and Mcnamee not always delivering when asked to step up to the plate, I feel we need some more thought given to this department. I also feel sorry for Oli as he has had such a steep rise in his career he needs time to develop. Simeon and Mcnamee, well I feel this is more about the players attitude than anything else.Wilbrahams is a utility player as we are sometimes too light up front if Holt is out so no problems from that front.

I would like to see someone brought in to put more pressure on Chris Martin because at the moment he doesn''t seem too interested.

Keep up the good work PL and team. ;)

  12. I have to say having seen the performance today at Cardiff, it was a great effort especially first half.

The glaring problem today was our in ability to test their keeper, we tried to walk the ball into their box/goal. Cardiff gave us a lesson in finishing today which we should learn from.

In the first half, we had a period where we battered them but there wasn''t very much of a final product. Our crossing was abysmal and our reluctance to shoot was so noticeable. Certain players look uncomfortable in shooting at goal or taking on the responsibilty either. This needs to be looked at because todayin the second half we looked like a toothless bulldog, we never tested their keeper at all when we should have been peppering his goal looking for a second.

Lastly, we need address the striking options. We had Johnson & Mcnamee come off the bench where they had Koumas and Mcphail. That sums up our strike force, in January we need someone else to join the front line with an eye for goal.

  13. I would say Greeno should just handle the situation like Beckham has.

I have the feeling the knives are sharpening for Capello and with the amount of gaffs the manager seems to be performing, I feel Greens career might be longer than the Italians!!

  14. People.... don''t get too wound up...he may be playing a mind game too...as if he said anything to antagonize the situation it would make Graysons team talk an easy thing.

Charlton have struggled recently so he should look at those results too.

If they played that great football why was their ground not full too the rafters when we played them??We all like good football but we do like to see our team win more often than not or is that just me!!

Sodje may think they play better football but let the table do the talking (which it does) after all its a RESULTS business too!!

Inter Milan didn''t play the best attacking football earlier this week but they are in a final, football isn''t about just attacking as there is a skill called defending to be done aswell.

I think Sodje is trying to soften up the Leeds team for the game and also he should remember you don''t always get what you want in this world either.

    Keep the faith!!

  15. Hey thanks for your congrats willynaylor. Its a shame that most judge your club by a few moronic fans that every club seem to have.

I think you will be alright as long as your team puts in a shift against Charlton.

Its amazing what pressure does at this part of the season.

If you had one thing you could change from the season what would it be, not beating Man Utd or selling Beckford?

  16. Am not nervous, we still have two game advantage to be clawed back. I do feel the players have got either complacent or nervy, however I feel PL will have reminded them of a few of the basics that did not happen on tuesday and to go and put them right on saturday.

The pressure is on charlton rather than us, we will still be top come saturday night. Who else in the league can say that, NO ONE!!

Look at if from another angle, do you believe that the pressure isn''t affecting the other teams too? Swindon and Millwall both had to score last minute equalisers to get a point. Its not just us being affected by the pressure.

    Keep the faith people!!
