  1. Just to clarify Bury thingy,I didn''t waste time as I was on hold to a call centre when i posted so it was quite a good use of time. It wasn''t pointless either as the point was to highlight how pointless it was, which you reiterated so you inadvertently agreed with me. Oh well we''ll have to just agree to agree. See you at irony class.
  2. Yeah 26,000 turned out, 22,000 sat in silence, or grumbled or booed at the end. They shuffled in then out again hundreds (not dozens) left between 84 mins & the whistle and almost no-one enjoyed themselves. Those that sang largely gave up bothering except to remind everyone which stand they sit in, even this post is pointless. Yellow army? more like a yellow convention of people going to a meeting about a proposed wind farm. Tch!
  3. Drove up the A12 past Colchester''s ground today, do you remember their foolish chairman Robbie Cowling?? Hahaa whatever happened to him?
  4. Thanks for support on the banner, I don''t post much so nice to have some welcome support.. I hope the banner can get made & gets put up.. 35 years man and boy a city fan enjoy the good times..
  5. Derived from earlier Nimmo Twins show & after watching Coldplay at Glastonbury "Look at Grant Holt look how he plays for you In a 4-4-2 and he wears Yellow" Also how about a huge banner hung from upper Barclay with "Welcome to St Pauls Cathedral" on it?
  6. Good job, well done, now let''s get going -   it was the post match comments that nailed him ''mustn''t let that happen again'' , A- that''s what you said about charlton away B- It should never have happened in the first place - it hadn''t to anyone else in 100 + years -  brilliant guy, great host of burns night parties - truly truly awful at managing a football team.  Mark Robbins, for me but am fearing a Mickey Adams or a worse Tony Adams... please not Neil Adams ..or any other Adams to boot.
  7. The match report on the City web-site is showing Andy *******D''urso as having reffed the game at Dartford... this can''t possibly be true can it ? if so A. did any city supporters twig and if so which hospital is he in ? B. If city fans didn''t twig did Gunn not grab him by the throat and force him to apologise through the PA system for the fact that he is the worst and most arrogant referee in the history of the world .. I presume the actual score was 15 - 2 but he chalked off 8 of our goals for no other reason than ''he can''.
  8. come on everyone it''s time to face it... we are unfortunately going to slip down this year....we are copying the last 2 years of Leicester City...just stayed up..then just slipped down...you have to be realistic ..we aren''t playing that badly but we just don''t win football matches..people say Gunn has lost just 2 in 6 but the others were draws including Southampton and Donny... it just isn''t happening for us and we cannot expect to perform better in terms of results in the last quater of the season than in the previous 3.. Loanees that improve the team are welcome..Lita, Evans & Taylor are the 3 obvious examples but to have had 40 odd since we came down with the collective wages/agents fees/ Dunston hall bill and loan fees but with no collateral at the end of it means we will have to try and get up again using loans (again) and the kids...we may as well blood them now in preperation... Sad times but writing has been on the wall.. chin up...we''re not quite in Lutons shoes yet and we should be having a long hard look at what Leicester are doing right in league 1 this year..
  9. Spoke to a Middlesborough season ticket holder today who claims to have someone in the know who says a £3 million bid for Marshall can be expected in January...  I''m not worried though as we could just sign Bolton''s 4th choice keeper as a solution whilst leaving our promising young keepers in the stands with Renton and Daley who are apparently worth a contract but not deemed good enough to make the squad.  One of the loanees will have to make way for Lita at this rate even Doherty is going to get a game when he''s fit...either that or we get Spillaine back if he''s willing to drop down to our level
  10. have 2 players who''s surnames end in the letter "i" ever scored for us in the same match before ??  Akiniyi scored one by mistake once when he was trying to miss but 2??? hmmm??
  11. If this Ameobi rumour comes true... any views on whether Rusell and Cureton might be on their way to part finance it - not pretending to know anything as I don''t.. just speculating ....   Russell doesn''t seem in favour given he was left out for Gibbs end of last season and hasn''t played in his best slot since Clingan arrived to mark himself and chase whoever has the ball for 90 mins ... do we need Cureton with Ameobi, loopy loo and the fella from Portsmouth ?  can see even Daley getting ahead of Curo ... and we haven''t even dare to mention Chrsi Martin or Renton yet ... ?
  12. Wow good rumour .... especially from a Newcastle fan  ... (that''sclassed as sort of Scottish is it ? or do you class yourself as North midlanders ? ) chin chin
  13. I''m up for this big time.... the San Jose website - has the 2008 shirt home and away (I think the away is damn fine )  Hucks is wearing number 6 in their photo''s .....what are the next steps to making this happen  en block as seems daft loads of Norwich fans getting them one at a time and paying shipping by the shirt ?.. Someone must be going to the states soon.. presumably they can be bought their much easier there than it seems they can here.                                                                     vanw
  14. I''m beginning to think we might soon be looking at a very bleak situation indeed..  The value of Colney, the ground and the playing squad in the current financial climate can''t be £18 million which is the size of our debt..thus we are technically insolvent no? ..   if we sell season tickets to kids at £50 a season then the fat we have 24,000 turn up is probably in revenue terms only the equivalent  of 17-18 thousand at other clubs if our fans are paying about £15 a ticket on average ..  Apparently we hold some stocks and shares but again, these are unlikely to make us any money with  the FTSE struggling like hell. If we are still limping along with a minimal  transfer budget despite, Green, Earnshaw, Ashton, McKenzie, Ethuhu, all reaching 7 figures fairly recently and only a fraction of that re-invested, where are we going to be in 3 years without a single player (possible exception of Marshall) being worth close to a million ? We used to want to follow the "Charlton" model but now they are following ours.....  we are more likely to got the Leicester or worse Luton route from where I''m standing...... all this and we are about to embark on a "Sack the Board" campaign for a month or two with half a team (the other half to be loaned to us from Wigan and Blackburn reserves presumably) to watch against a plethora of clubs who have new investment...   someone do something ... pleeeeeeeease.
