    Awful performance. Totally inept.

I'm afraid Wagner's got to admit that Ida just isn't any good. He has no footballing instincts whatsoever. I keep wanting him to come good but it just isn't there.

I don't what he can do till Sarge returns but he'll have to come up with something. I think Adam's woefulness is not helping team morale. And ditto for Gibson's terminal blunders, which outweigh any quality he might have.

    Time for a rethink.

Idah. Just been described on Radio Norfolk as big, strong and tall. Quite correct but as Ron says he just is not a footballer.

As well as buying Foulger’s shares he also swept up some other minority holdings. Those have already been counted, and the new shares take him to 40 per cent quality with S&J.

Purple. I take your point although the wording from the press report does not seem to make it totally clearcut. It would help if the Club made a straightforward statement. Whilst S & J and MA have agreed to work in concert in the space of 2 1/2 years, that could only be a verbal agreement, and covering such a long period there might be disagreements. Rather interestingly in that scenario the Trust would have a big part to play. Overall for me the ownership arrangement is unsatisfactory in that financially we are now in a state of limbo for nearly three years. You can take the view that Delia is being cautious, and although MA might be whiter than white, it is a fact that when it comes to financial matters the Americans in general are usually in it for a quick buck and not very open. On the other hand it is possibly a fact that Delia just does not want to let go just yet !!!!

  3. The press report states that the deal now approved provides MA with the same holding as D & M. BUT it also says MA has hoovered up other shares presumably as and when they became available. Unless my understanding of maths has somewhat deteriorated does this not mean that MA is in fact the majority holder !!!! The fact that there are still some other issues still outstanding sums up in a nutshell the mess this country is now in.

  4. Whilst I obviously did not see much of the Plymouth game but assuming the structure of the midfield remained the same, then that is our big weakness. Kenny is more or less playing very deep leaving Sara on his own. In theory Rowe and Fassnacht are part of the attacking midfield but they are sticking out wide and making little contribution. So any opposing quick breaks are leaving us very exposed down the middle. Interestingly Ipswich played at Southampton the other night and deployed four midfielders spread across the pitch and they barely ventured forward. And the end result, apart from a gift to the Town,  neither side ever looked like scoring. I agree, in our case,  flawed tactics !!!

That is after the horse has bolted. I am asking where the money has gone we accrued at the start of the season.

I am assuming you are talking about transfer sales monies. Apart from a few exceptions nobody in football has any money and so most deals are in gradual instalments - including Sky  - and talking of which our income from them is now considerably down.

    I'm 100% sure they haven't.

Absolutely true. Of course they enjoy various perks which are perfectly justifiable in view of their work and commitment but there is no evidence of them milking the Club.. Compared with most other football club owners they are whiter than white. However they are at an age when they should step aside, as for the next 2 -3 years with Mark partly involved we can but only financially stagnate and that is really no use at all. Delia's theory is perhaps that she just wants to weigh up Mark a bit more before handing over fully. Understandable but if we want big money we have to get on with it.

  7. Where's the money gone. Last accounts roughly speaking in millions - Income 147 including 102 from broadcasting. Outgoings 165 including 118 in total staff costs. i.e. loss of around 17. So to balance the books we have to sell our valuable players. Most Clubs are in the same boat apart from the top ones who attract money from "dubious investors". The basic problem is that as fast as money comes in, mainly from Sky, it goes out straightaway on players wages etc.

Perhaps an interesting point is that the Club has been in business since 1919 yet after all those years its book value is 3 Million. You can add to this whatever you think the ground is worth in the unlikely event of the Club folding. To put this is in perspective a local building firm who said they could not provide affordable homes recently made an annual profit of 40 million - paid 20 million tax and distributed 20 million in divs to their offshore owners. As they say "you could not make it up"

Anyone would think Leicester were Barcelona the way the muppets on here are creaming themselves over them. They were nothing special. A good team would have beat them last night. We were toothless. People banging on about Leicester being 'a Premier league team'. Burnley were twice as good last season. And look at them now! Leicester are a million miles from a 'Premier league team'. They ain't winning the championship. And we ain't finishing top 6 six.

    You're welcome.

    All the best.

    Big Keith Scott.

Don't think I have seen before such a differing of opinions of this match. If it is due to some at the game and many others watching on TV I am not sure. I actually agree with Keith. So far as I can recall hardly any of the successfull Leicester premier side were on the pitch and I would not exactly describe their bench as "premier type". Did not see much quality on the pitch, the difference in the sides being Leicester showed more pace, mobility and effort. For me our main problem is midfield, the core being Sara attacking and McClean defending. Otherwise there is little cohesion. We frequently lose possession and unable to find space - apart from a few balls to Stacey -  and numerous passes go astray. We look ponderous going forward. Or, in plain English, we do not seem to have much of a team plan.

I am fully aware its early days etc etc and we have not been helped with injuries. But we seem miles away from Farke's best spells. David Wagner is a nice guy with a decent record but he has not been helped with our recruitment changing from "up and coming" to "down and going". I appreciate this is what football is all about and I can only hope I am proved wrong !!!

Sara, Rowe and Fassnacht all had arguably their worst games of the season. Combine that with Sargent missing and you are going to be up against it. Given that we did well to be in the game til the end and arguably deserved a point.

Yes the three players mentioned were very poor. Stupid penalty to concede and Rowe just seemed unable to get in to the game. Did not think Leicester were that great but somehow our style of play is very slow and negative. Lack of gaining possession in midfield and we seemed unable to find anyone in space and resorted to retaining possession by passing back which was getting us nowhere. Apart from Kenny's effort we never looked like scoring.

  10. Lets be honest. After being miles behind us 3 years ago the Town have closed the gap completely. Mainly thanks to a very capable manager. Watching tonights game they played four defensive midfielders strung across the pitch and looked strong and organised when defending. A poor Saints side never really looked like scoring. However I did not think they had much up front and we have better individual attackers apart from you know who !! At the end of the season I think we will finish just above them providing no other injuries to key players.

  11. I was there to see Stanley play when he must have been close to calling it a day. They did win the title that season. In common with some others I seemed to think it was a midweek evening game - but as stated by Ricardo it wasn't. Rather interestingly 27 days later the highest attendance was recorded 43984. Leicester cup tie. It was slightly cramped!!

It still peeves me that I don't know exactly who my first match was against..

It was the Texaco Trophy, a mid week match, early season because it started off in daylight. I know it was against Scottish opposition, but we played two teams and I'm ****ed if I can remember who it was.

*(It might have been the Anglo-Scottish cup) more likely was.

As a bright eyed bushy tailed 13 year old, it was all a bit of a blur

According to the book "Canary Citizens" the Texaco Cup opponents in 1973 were :St. Johnstone, Motherwell and Burnley which consisted of 1st and 2nd Legs. The following year: Peterborough, WBA and Birmingham. Single Legs all away.

Gunn and Stacey both spoke well and good answers to Darren Eadie’s questions.  Rowe good fun telling of his exploits when at Langley school.  Some of the audience questions were a bit daft but when asked what they had done on their day off on Monday, Rowe said he was waiting at the hospital to get his lip stitched!

Thank Goodness Myra I never asked one of my usual questions !!!! "Very Old Supporter" otherwise known as Bernie !!!!!!!!

P.S. Soon to be known as VAS - I am sure you will know why !!!

  14. My only gripe about this performance was the continual faffing around by Angus at the back. Obviously under instructions from the Head Coach, in common with many goalkeepers. He is reasonably comfortable on the ball but I feel too many passes are made to defenders who have an opponent close by and we are putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure and quite often a hurried clearance is made to no one in particular. I can understand the theory of having an alternative to a big goal kick up the middle and the short pass has its plus points but many keepers need to be more aware of the dangers of poor distribution.

  15. Early days but what is clearly missing is a defensive midfielder. An Oliver Skipp style player would be perfect i.e. athletic, powerful, covers a lot of ground and supports the last line of defence as required. Sara has great potential as an attacking midfielder but needs support as outlined above. Yesterday time and again the Saints strolled up to our penalty area and we were bombarded with crosses and corners in to our 6 yard box which to be fair our under pressure defence generally dealt with very well. On the other side of the coin our occasional breakaway attacks always looked dangerous against a far from convincing defence.

That was 90 (edit actually that was 104) minutes of every emotion going.

First of all if that game was played last season we'd have lost that comfortably. Our newly refound resolve and spirit is clear to see.

But also can't help but feel if we'd have had a more defensive minded midfielder than Kenny in that holding role we may well have not conceded as we did. Not a big criticism of Kenny, thought he had an ok game, I just wish we had a more defensive minded midfielder for games like this.

But it's so, so nice to be enjoying Norwich City again. Let's hope this isn't just a fluke and this continues, because I think we keep this up we might just surprise a few.

Agree TY. With Sara on his own in midfield and Kenny playing very deep we invited a lot of pressure. Numerous corners and crosses close to goal to defend which we handled well but could have easily conceded more. To be fair our few breakaway attacks always looked dangerous although not sure the Saints defence is that good. Early days but I think our tactics will need fine tuning. The coaches need to sort out Hernandez. He spends far too much time hugging the touchline and allows himself to be closely marked and is largely ineffective. Rarely produces a quality final ball.
