1. ''Ive had a season-ticket for 30 years''......my good old favourate for any club whether that be on canary call or 606 or talksport or whatever [:)]

This stupid argument of ''ive supported them the longest'' is ridicilous, the people who say it often aren''t the hardcore fans anyway, as they dont care how long it is, they dont need to remind people as it isn''t a matter of importance, you support the team through thick and thin....if you support it through thick then you''re a man united fan, if through thin you''re a cambridge united fan, simple really [:)]

  2. 1) Brum (still an extremely impressive squad)

    2) Derby (the man''s done it before, and this is his real season)

    ----------

    3) Wolves (the nearly club strike again)

    4) Sheff. Utd (in beattie they have a lethal weapon, and i rate blackwell at this level)

    5) Coventry (Many ppl''s ''darkhorse'', good buys and a great young manager)

    6) Norwich (well, it would be rude not to! ...depends what ''target man'' we purchase)

    ------

    22) Blackpool (losing too many assets and not replacing them)

    23) Doncaster (must admit, dont know too much about them, that makes them automatic relegation fodder, haha)

    24) Southampton (doomed off the field, and doomed on it too....i feel a season of woes for saints fans resulting in admin. and a points deduction)

  3. doc rated as ''70/30'' by roeder today, sounds very much like he won''t start, shackell definately will, I would imagine dejan will get the nod with omozuri on the right, drury left..

then the midfield as you said, however ive got a feeling lupoli wont start with cureton

  4. this has got me thinking....do we actually have a ''hard man'' in our team...which is severly needed in this division...I kno russell isnt afraid too put his foot in but we dont really have a recognised hard man that would be fear into the opposition...I think its about time we signed a nutter purely for this purpose, bring back andy hughes [;)]

  5. haha! thats a ridicilous question at the moment to be fair....2 weeks back none of us had even heard of this makiese bloke, and only a select few have seen him play one match, where as lupoli is a bit more well-known, but still people''s knowledge of him probably derive from championship manager...For the record though, get them both in

  6. After seeing a few on a different thread I thought it would be funny to see how many real funny strike pairing names they''re are about, or even ones that could potentially happen..

Sorry I''ve forgot who posted them but here''s two for example i noticed..

    • (Charlton Atheltic) ''Costa & Fortune''
    • (Wycombe) ''Easter & Sunday''

  7. of course being west ham fans they had to try and give ''the bloody yanks a lesson'' didn''t they...incidentally they always state how they hate the media yet the unravel a banner with the ''ICF'' on it, knowing full well that the americans won''t have a clue about what it stands for, hoping the press will pick up on it to ''alert'' other sad groups of human beings that still exist..As for the fan that stated ''bring them down to carrow road and then we''ll see who''s boss'' I know you put a wink on the end so i take it your joking because trust me you would not want to go down to some of the east / north parts of London at night saying that sort of thing...like someone said, these people are pshyco''s, let them knock each other to bits, just dont expect our NHS (National Health Service incidentally) to patch them back up

  8. haha! why do some people hate the loan system? without the loan system we wouldn''t have had...
    • Darren Huckerby
    • Peter Crouch
    • Ryan Bertrand
    • Ched Evans
All premier league standard (or soon to be) and yes I can see why people don''t like the way they often don''t turn out into permenant signings, but the bottom line is we can''t afford to keep buying top quality players, the premier league squad players want first team football, and this suits both parties

  9. It would be a shame if true (and lets face it, its not the worst rumour with had this summer, especially with the 30 odd midfielders we seem to be buying/linked with), however I posted earlier this month stating how this year really is do or die for croft...i feel with the right coaching he could become a very good player for us and would work well with hoolahan but GR seems to much prefer chadwick

  10. haha! i feel the same way about the chap who said fulham and millenium stadium, despite the two awful outcomes, pre and during the match the atmosphere was fantastic inside and outside the two grounds with brilliant weather to match...and millenium stadium is my favourate stadium (beating both the old and new wembley)

On a different note, a dour game from what i remember the reading away day from which mulryne scored off the ref''s back virtually sealed promotion and again it was a party atmoshphere

Unfortunately after 20 or so away games in the last few years Reading is the only win i''ve seen! after miserable trips to hull, liverpool, villa, coventry, southampton etc

  11. ive sat pretty much all around the ground bar the new community stand infill bit (and the roy waller memorial seats [;)]), and it really is a matter of opinion whether or not..

    (a) you like the noise and atmospere or whether you prefer to analysis the game with the person next to you quietly

    (b) you prefer having a side on view and judging offsides or an end view and judging incoming shots better

For me @ home games I don''t really mind sitting in a quieter area (it always makes the away days better anyway, haha!) but i much prefer to sit at an end rather then the sides, it really irritates me when you can judge whether a shot is going miles wide or not!...so the anwser

LOWER BARCLAY BLOCK C ROW S/T/U...(or there abouts!)

I should point out I currently don''t have a season ticket so this is not where i sit reguarly

  12.
Well there was even talk of Prem clubs interested in him last season, hopefully one of them will offer a big pile of cash!
Yeah that was a strange one i have to say, if im right i believe the rumour was £1.2/3 million off to sunderland which i found strange, but he''s an intriguing player and one that most fans would dearly love to succedd

  13. After two years at this club for croft this season really is do or die, at times through-out last year such as palace away he really showed the threat he can possess, if he''s taught how to deliver the final ball better and mainly how to shoot i really do thinnk the boy could shine and terrorise this division, with hoolahan on the other side we could be a real attacking force BUT croft must deliver or else face the cull under the roeder regime

  14. yeah just read that on the beeb too....Sun Jihai - a trier and good technically, like most east asian players and obivusly has the physical adaption to his game being @ man city for a while, on a free I think this will prove to be good business for blackwellGreg Halford - this lad was another labelled ''next big thing'' whilst at colchester, a tall quick utility player great at set piece situations but has sadly failed to live up the hype and if i remember rightly also seems to have a bit of a lazy attitude about him, a shame really....great potential at one time, but not for me now, how many clubs has he had in his career already?

  15.
I don''t know how much of either party''s wealth is actually liquid (i.e. not tied up in the value of their companies), but I''d sooner take the punt on an insurance broker than a sub-prime loan consolidator. That said, I do not know the details of either of their businesses sufficiently well to be able to assess the risk associated with each.
Im glad you picked up on the point of ''liquidity''...as it seems to many people on here just assume PC has £1.7billion that he can pump into the club, i believe he has already stated that he''s not willing to bankroll the club like abramavich, so as long as either investor is prepared to provide the necessary funds for the right players then I dont have a personal preference without knowing the facts of either company and offer
