    Ooooh what a burn 😂

So your comeback says you don’t know Cantwell, Joe Cole or Beckham. But you can make a really good claim to compare aspects of their personality. Good one 😂

Apologies, didn't realise I was replying to a teenager...

Comeback? burns? You sound like my nephew... might as well put Fortnite on and bust some moves, I would rather discuss football and related stuff than that.

If you don't agree with my post that's cool too, but I guess the way you show your maturity is by throwing shade at people. Well done.

  2. We all have cult heroes. Cantwell is just more like Emi used to be before his mind was at ease, wildly inconsistent, moments of genius in between moments where he can't give a rat's. Mercurial. Sort of cult antihero?

If a player like Beckham or J.Cole was born in Norfolk.. would that be him?

  3. What makes me frustrated is that we were so close to winning. Plenty chances to score before half time, then a penalty missed at the close, with another that the ref thought wasn't worthy of attention.

But we were pretty close to losing as well! The inability to get a grip of things from 2-0 up is maddening - why encourage the opposition??

If the two halves had been flipped then most of us would say, fair enough. That said, there seems to be not enough "steel" and grittiness in this team (and whenever you think there is a tiny bit, it's so brittle that it just shatters) and not enough leaders.

McLean needs to be at LB, Byram needs to be rested.

That of course relies on Hayden not having an adverse reaction to his 45 mins yesterday.

Pukki's best work was when he drifted out wide but through the middle Sargent is our main goal scoring threat.

Giannoulis needs to be back at LB. Byram and Nunez need time on the bench. Dowell is either a 10 or a 0.

Yes! Today he definitely looked the player we were hoping for.

I was wondering about the diamond before kick off. Certainly caught PNE napping, but I think we need to work on it more, the players weren't quite ready for it yet. Think it's a formation which could suit us well though - certainly as an option.

Don't know about that, we lack width in attack, only natural winger is Onel and he hasn't done much today. We'll see what happens when Giannoulis is back

I'm just so confused at the moment, with Norwich, and our management. I don't look forward to a matchday like I did, because I know the sort of performance level it is, but quite obviously want us to win, wether playing poorly or like man city.

I know its been spoken of on here about what happens if/when we go up, and we will no doubt do exactly the same as previous premier league seasons. I feel the only way teams can go up and thrive is through really stamping their authority on the league below. I cant see any side being promoted this season getting anywhere next season, this championship season, is by far the worst I have ever seen.

Is this all Smiths and Shakespeares fault? Or are they doing what is necessary for promotion for another season of spankings.

You should know the answer by now as any real City fan would

The whole Smith thing feels very Alex Neil.

Whenever we sing about recent glory it's Paul Lambert or Daniel farke poor old wee baldy who gave us a cracking play off final is the forgotten man.

Dean Smith very much feels like he will be remembered as "the chap we had after farke and before (name as yet unknown)"

He's certainly not going to end up a city legend.

He's like the hot blonde you date on the rebound after a long term relationship.

She's cute but hasn't got any substance and is forgotten by all when the next one comes along.

Smith is the keeper, dependable boring cup of tea, Farke was the hot German blonde with big jugs that blew brains off. So good it was bad, now we're ruined for anyone else

Several of us who were undecided about Dean Smith said 'let's give him 10 games'. Well, here we are.

If you'd asked me on Wednesday then my assessment would have been somewhat more positive, but today was a reality check and highlights how little we've progressed under Smith.

I'm willing to allow those first three games as a temporary blip while we found our feet. Far from ideal, but not the end of the world.

The next 4 we found a way to win without playing especially well. Definitely a good sign. The next two we hit another gear (for the most part).

However, the midfield frailties persist. McLean is not a DM and Nunez is not fast or physical enough (yet) to perform the defensive part of the role he is being asked to do.

The telling thing for me is that we had dropped Rashica and (finally) reverted to the 4-2-3-1. With a number 10, Pukki was unshackled and back to his best. Cantwell was playing well too, in the same role in which he had originally broken into Farke's team.

We were creating chances. And taking them too.

Yet here we are today. Cantwell dropped (squad rotated?) and back to the 4-3-3. And back to the same turgid rubbish from last season. No ideas. No creativity. Pukki isolated. Kenny as a single pivot in midfield, looking vulnerable and ineffective. A massive backwards step.

We're second in the table. 2 points per game. Salvaged a draw from a losing position against a good side. It's not so bad. Good enough, ultimately.

However I'm still left with the overriding questions: what have we gained? Is this progress?

It seems like the plan is still to keep persevering with the 4-3-3, despite its obvious shortcomings with our squad. It isn't working and it won't work with these players.

I can't warm to Dean Smith. The atmosphere is flat. There's an underlying discontent, simmering under the surface.

We might just about have enough for automatic promotion. But we're nowhere near the level we hit under Farke. And we look further away from being a Premier League team than at any point in the last 4 years.

So, after 10 Championship games my verdict on Dean Smith: meh.

Perfect game for a 4231. Too bad.

Nuñez number 10, or number 8?

Sara is going to take a while. But the whole team was bad - selection and approach. Ramsey was probably the least bad, aside from Byram for saving our bacon.

    My .2 cents

I think its become really obvious that a specialist DM is what is missing from this team. From us blindly passing to the opposition on the edge of the box, where an anchorman should be to link defence with attack, to our struggle to break up opposition counter attacks, and our lightweight players having to drop too deep and then panicking in possession.

There's a big Isaac Hayden shaped hole waiting to be filled with an Isaac Hayden.

If Gibbs is match fit, Hayden will be mostly a bench player.
