Four managers and their collective coaching teams,  so bordering on 12 professional coaches with experience watching players week in week out and different levels, many of them Premier League, deemed Kenny our most reliable option in midfield.

Hes now been made captain too.

But ignoring two title wins and the above you must remember the amount of experts on here who've said for 5 years or so that no midfield with Kenny in can expect to get playoffs at this level.

Remember all those posters, as they might well need reminding for a third time after this season.

In which they'll make every excuse imaginable and rinse and repeat.

To be fair we have never got into the playoffs with Kenny in the team, but we have got auto promotion twice.

Yes this guy produced the cross where Rowe headed the winner against QPR. But before everybody get excited and goes overboard  -  what about the rest of his game ?  Defense-wise this guy makes Ben Gibson look a superhero ! If he had to mark a half-decent striker we would have been 2 or 3 down. Wing-backs are great when the player is equally effective both in defence and on attack - he is a lightweight who can cross a ball - nothing more.  David Warner praising him does not help - he needed a sharp kick between the legs to buck up his ideas.  I definitely don't want this guy near the team. If Stacey is injured just put in Sorensen.

Overreaction much? The guy has played one game at a level three tiers above any he has played at before and you, in your infinite wisdom, decide he is useless. Jeez, the only useless one here is the poster.

They won't be this time next year though!

Well maybe they will but I'd hate to just prop up the league and fight relegation every year when your only weekly punt is will they tonk us 5 or 6 nil

I hope they are still in EPL next season, the add ons will surely have this as one of the conditions, so we get money.

Thanks! Yes, Will Jacks! (Senior moment!)

Yes Dom Bess - he can't seem to get many games atm. A victim of the County system imo.

He is still registered with Yorkshire but they have loaned him out on short term loans to Warwick and Somerset this season.

Shef, glad to see you can always find a dark cloud when it comes to cricket as well as Norwich City. Good to have a fixed point in a chaotic universe...😍

I take the point about the bowling but will mention one wicket-keeper-batsman name - James Rew of Somerset.

There is someone called Woakes not sure, but he may be good enough. And another, Leach.

Think the 2005 series was overall of higher quality. Lots of errors from both teams in this series. But this is the best in my memory for close finishes. As Branston says, four out of five games really tight. 1981 was before my watching time but I guess that would have come close, too. There's obviously Botham and Willis at Headingley, but I'm pretty sure Botham took 5-1 at Edgbaston to win a game that Aus were cruising in. Quite a lot of Bazball in those two series, too!

The other thing that has been great about this series has been the clash of styles. Perfectly encapsulated in the first two innings at the Oval where the two teams took very different routes to more or less identical scores. Hugely admire England for sticking to their approach at 0-2 down and getting at least what they deserve in the end. What Stokes and McCullum have done with this flawed, ragtag bunch of players is quite extraordinary.

The Aussie captain in 2005 was Ponting, a far better skipper than Cummings, though not as good as Vaughan.

    Spurs?

Polston, Culverhouse, Bowen, Neighbour even Martin Chivers for a while. May be some more?

    Crook, Brook as well.

Edit:- Gary Brooke never actually played a game for us after we signed him from Spurs.

With you on Platcheta so why bother including him in a squad.  We’ve done nothing to improve him so he’s not worth anything.    Tzolis has certainly got more talent than PP.

Absolutely understand the finances with Tzolis but it’s in our interests to give him opportunity in the best team so he’s got a chance of being productive and / or has a value in the market.    If he’s not going to get that (some may argue he’s had it but he hasn’t) or if he’s not considered good enough then there won’t be a return.    In which case do a deal with some club to cut our losses.  Let another player have a go…. He’s been around the squad long enough.

Otherwise this is a very young lad far from home who must feel pretty unwanted and frustrated.      It was the clubs fault they spent that money on him, not his.    Yes, he’s made some money but looks like all that potential he apparently had has been untapped.     Whose fault is that.    The clubs, the coaches and the managers.

seems to me no harm in giving him a run since you look at our best XI right now and it’s very uninspiring!

Given that we went to Poland to sign Denis Mann and came back with Placheta....
