  1. Soon it will be new kit time and 'we're the football team in the yellow and green' so stand by for another variation of the same.

As 'The Canaries' we play in Canary yellow and yellow is the second kit of many other teams and it looks good. But then again, they don't pair it with green shorts.

Our shirts look good most years but when we pair it with the all green shorts it loses something because, unless you're ginger, green is a difficult colour for outfits.

What I'd like to see is an all yellow kit with green trim only and perhaps a third colour on the trim even if it is black.

I know we had the flannel like all yellow kit before but the material and cut was wrong. On a modern kit it would look good. Just going for green shorts is lazy design and looks dated.

We have the new crest, like or loath it, so why not a bit more reinvention to shake off the rust of last season?

And before some of you begin to rant just consider the reaction of yourselves and others to some of our away kits. It does matter, appearence matters, the impression and the effect on the wearer matters otherwise corporations would not spend millions on design and scheme.

    Fully agree.
The only solution is to allow this Euro league to break away and a wage cap / grass roots rules system is put in for the rest of the leagues.
Almost like football needs a Rugby league / union style split or schism because the Prem just is not the promised land that it once was.

The British football league needs to grab the big boys by the balls as well and hold them responsible.
Its like any capitalist economy I guess... a small % holds 95% of the wealth, Shame to see what football has become in the last 10 years.

When the 'big six' wanted to join a European Super League the supporters of most other clubs said 'yes, go!'

  3. Norwich City FC is relegated but, unlike others before, will not be financially crippled by the fact as most EPL income just goes to overpaid loanees and mercenaries who never seem to fit in or play with much love for the Club.

Contracted players take the salary hit with few, if any, able to look elsewhere. They know they cannot cut it in the EPL. They need to rediscover their Championship mojo.

Clubs who survive in the EPL, including NCFC once, do so because of a collective togetherness which makes them better than the sum of their parts. This is manifestly absent from NCFC with players who owed their careers to scapegoated Daniel Farke and others, who just looked peripheral, never appearing to bond fully and never bond with the supporters. One wonders how they get on with Dean Smith?

The Club has to not only rebuild a unit of a squad it has to rebuild its relationship with its supporters. There is something seriously missing, the kind of thing that saw players and fans at the Clubs who survived raising their own fervour and passion. No one really felt any belief or expectation after 10 games in.

The CEO (or equivalent), Owners, Management and Senior Players are remote figures whereas high profile, public versions of the same have galvanised supporters in the past. It is detached and remote. Our best professionals, like Pukki, arent overt personalities either.

Clearly, a refresh is needed and there will be plenty of squad places to fill. Dean Smith must bring in some personality, character and physicality and we all hope this will be a season for the likes of Idah, Omobamidele and other home developed prospects to shine. We can always take to our own, easily.

But more of the same attitude from the Club management and matters could soon get worse. They have to look at themselves and set the right tone and if promotion can be reacheived it must be with a squad that will be kept together to try again as a unit.

  4. For some reason Rowe reminded me of Craig Bellamy. Unfazed and determined for his own career.

It also highlighted how we have too many players who are intimidated by the EPL but jealous of their own status in the Club. They are no use to us.

I hope this young man carries on being himself and does well. We need his spirit.

  5. Chris Goreham got it right.

The only people who don't know what's happening with VAR are the supporters actually in the ground and that is hugely frustrating.

Personally, I think human error is part of the game and I would rather the ref made the contentious decisions than someone miles away looking at screens.

I'll take the mistakes for a bit of spontaneity back in the game.

But the genie is out of the bottle.

I agree with Buh. VAR ruins football.

Watford usually bully us and from what we've seen in our last two matches, that isn't going to be so easy for them to do, plus the midweek game they have may throw up some injury/fitness issues for them for Friday.  All in all, this isn't any more a Farke team that is susceptible to teams like Watford - we have seen what is possible now within our squad when players are fit and firing - and we should go there with a real positive outlook. That they play on Tuesday can only be of help to us, even if they win that game, because if they do, at least it cements Burnley's position, although a draw would be a better result, obviously.

    Fair points.

Watford's style has been a nemesis to us for some time. They are a cheaper version of Palace and we don't do well against physicality and string runners.

It is, a good acid test if we can put out a strong team and hopefully one not including lightweight midfielders.

  7. We are where we are. That's it.

We can analyse and criticise all we like but it won't do our players any good.

In my opinion: Placheta, Gilmour and Idah showed heart. Byram looked more of an EPL player than the rest of the team and was my motm and young Rowe looked really lively.

But for too many players the confidence and belief, if there was any, lasted as long as the penalty went in.

There is still a long season ahead so something has to change for these players or else they will be like whipped dogs.

Slagging them off will only make matters worse. They have to find it from within themselves to go and go again. Any dissent within the camp MUST be eradicated and leaders must come forward. I thought Byram showed leadership, we need more and we need vocal. Perhaps we need to sign a big character or bring one back in, like Hugill because it isn't now about ability it is about mentality.
