Apart from Max Aarons any of our players thinking they can play on this league for someone else need to realise they lack the all round game for this level.
Moments of brilliance are great but you have to do all the other things around game management and solidity.
Move to an EPL side and you'll end up 'doing a Murphy.'
Career wise they'd be better off with another season in the Championship, hope to get promoted then look to step up.

What exactly is wrong with Pukki?
-
Hoping to get to half time only one down.
-
This so far is one of those games where Kenny McLean vanishes.
Put Amadou or Trybull on for him.

Tettey is having a great season imho.

Amadou has not been given a run in his proper position. He looks like a strong box to box player to me.

You'd still need some way of accurately deciding when the ball was kicked though (which is my biggest gripe, it's all very well showing lines drawn across the pitch, but is it at the right moment in time?).
Good points.
VAR is intended to be used for 'clear and obvious errors.'
Instead, it is becoming a forensic examination which takes minutes and stalls the game in multiple aspects.
The pitch referee and assistant referees were always credited with only having one chance to make a decision in the heat of the moment. If it was an honest decision it should have been accepted whether right or occasionally wrong.
Unfortunately, TV pundits, managers and players called on TV technology when it suited them and made fools of officials and so the officials wanted a level playing field, hence VAR.
Lesson 1 is to be careful what you wish for and football has shot itself in the foot.
The real victims are the people who actually attend the games.
So, you are a VAR referee. You know your decision will be scrutinised and this time using the same platform. You cannot say you only had one look, it is robotic and dehumanising. And so you will analyse fully because an error is impossible to excuse.
But the yardstick should be 'clear and obvious' and this should mean you are allowed to accept error because there is no forensic analysis, just a brief assessment for a real clanger. But if a VAR ref does this in a league lead by huge sums of money, sponsorship and online betting he or she will be held up as knowingly letting an error go.
We then arrive back at the same place which is an honest decision.
Football has brought VAR on itself. Respect referees and go back to the instant judgement. Players invariably know whether or not they are offside etc. In the case of Pukki's goal the ball was in the air so long he deserved any instinctive consideration, the defenders had all the time they needed, Pukki's skill won and that is the essence of the game.
VAR has made a rod for official's backs in a nuanced game.

It is the hope that ultimately kills you.
I'm just enjoying it game by game now with no expectation of staying up.
Remember Fulham away?
-
Fans should take whistles to games and collectively blow them during the drawn out VAR examinations.
I have to admit I always thought, clearly wrongly, that offsides were judged on a players torso not shoulder or foot.
Surely those chest things which constantly send data could instantly tell a computer whether one was ahead of the other?
-
Amadou's disappearance from pitch action is truly baffling in recent games where we have run out of steam and lost leads?
-
VAR sponsored by Bet365!

I had foolishly hoped VAR would be a leveller but it has just reinforced my fear that sides like Norwich are unfairly penalised by VAR officials.
I listened to the game on BBC London and they said the Norwich chant 'It's not football anymore' was a powerful message from the paying supporters.

True.
But good luck is simply hard work meeting opportunity.

We don't have the players to chase a game in this league so once we conceded, that's it.
The Villa goal was TT and Emi switching off. Both were tired.
We seriously lack a second striker. Rhodes?
It is what it is.
-
Remember the team bus which broke down before our victory parade even began?
A metaphor for our forthcoming season.
-
We lack a cutting edge but are at least showing physicality and winning a lot of 59 - 50 and 60 - 40 balls.
Good substitutions could win us this game. I fancy Onel's strength and Mario for Todd with Emi going wide.
-
The trouble is: we have seen this Norwich performance multiple times this season.
Too often it's 'should be ahead' then sucker punched. A better side than Villa would have scored already.
Too expansive too often.
-
Thrashing Villa 0 - 0!
-
Sell a few players.
Build a new stand.
Go again with the same player mix.
-
Good luck to Leicester going forwards.
I can't see Liverpool being stopped but would like to see Leicester runners up.
I'm glad to see Norwich doing themselves justice, they just need to do it regularly and deal with the less expansive sides better.
-
It looks like our boys are finally showing a bit of physicality. Kenny mistimed that foul and knew he did but otherwise his game continues to improve.
Aarons has been sharp. Pukki looked disinterested then scored. Onel is the outlet we missed as much as Zimmermann.
But Todd Cantwell is so full of confidence, what a classy finish. He is a rare player and looks like a young Glenn Hoddle.

8 minutes ago, Ian said:Agreed, I genuinely don't understand the point - I think there's a massive misunderstanding of what Cantwell offers.
Vrancic is a fantastic, languid midfielder, but almost the polar opposite of Cantwell as a player.
I agree. A lot of people don't see Cantwell's qualities. He has a unique skill set.
-
Emi needs to be judged when he plays with a settled side with key players back.

Loved Kevin Reeves and the lad in the foreground is Ginger from Wisbech a top lad.

The joy is in winning the Championship which is a much better format than the EPL.
The EPL is dire overall for most sides with sparse games at irregular times. And with VAR it is even less enjoyable for supporters.
It is just about the money which you can spoon out to players and agents or invest in the estate of your Club.
It's tough this season but imagine being a fan of Leeds, Forest, Sheff Wed etc etc.
