1. I am fully aware of my country''s history - my point was England didnt "save us" in the war.....The Russians and Americans did.I fully appreciate we weren''t the reason either country joined the war....but that doesn''t change the fact it was the advancing Russians that sent the Nazi''s packing from Poland.I also have the utmost respect for the British forces, past and present, and you''re right, maybe my post didn''t make it clear enough, but trust me, the whole Polish nation appreciates that you went to war for us and are grateful for the efforts of the British forces!!As for my "beloved" Russians.....I do not tar this generation with their predeccessor''s brushes. The USSR put us through absolute horrors, and if you ever visit Poland, I would advise a trip to the Gdansk shipyard museum to see the place where the fall of communism started. If it wasn''t for the bravery of Lech Walesa and the other dockers, we would have been subjected to god knows how many more years of it. It just doesn''t bear thinking about. But whilst we suffered for a very long time, its been nearly 20years since the USSR fell - you cannot just keep hating a country indefinitely!

  2. Inferiority complex? i don''t think so - yeah we have never performed well against the English. This is nothing something to be ashamed of - many teams have been outperformed by England - although not so many to the level we have. We have 40million people in Poland, but we do not have the money in football for development, i think the first TV deal for the Ekstrakalasa (Polish top flight) was 2004/2005.Hence the Bundesliga take all the best Polish players, and some Judas''s then take German citizenship and play for the German national side! Miroslav Klose for one!! not that i blame him, Germany have a much better chance of winning anything than we do. I''m just happy after putting up with lacklustre Polish teams for so many years that we finally have one who play decent football and have a good chance of at least giving the Euro''s a decent shot and putting in a half decent performance in an tournament.I am bored of this turning into England Poland debate. I am proud to be Polish and I hope other fellow city fans can be pleased for me after the performance my country put in during qualifying, irrelevant of how your country have done, or how many times you have beaten us over the years!!I was merely offering my viewpoint, i didnt mean to inflame anyone, or wind them up....apologies if i have! (with the exception of the post directed at BlyBly - which was retaliatory!!)I''m sure you will get a decent manager in and hopefully a restructure at the FA and within the squad will allow you to mount a decent challenge for 2010!!Good luck!!

I don''t see why you want to protest against delia and the board! If it wasnt for delia putting millions of HER OWN money into the club we would already be in league 1! So just grow up and SUPPORT the club not protest about anything you can think of to do with Norwich City Football Club!
Delia DID NOT save us. the legendary Geoffrey Watling did. and in his will, he wrote off all money that the club owed him, can you see your precious Delia having that clause in her will? No, so you think she''ll sell all her shares for nothing do you? NO, so how exactly is she going to lose out? How is it that shes put millions in with no hope of return? oh wait, she hasn''t....Millions of her own money - THAT SHE''LL GET BACK when she finally sells up and gets the hell out.....If it wasn''t for her throwing the club''s money at the hotel and her restaurant, then we might still be in the PREMIER LEAGUE!!!I will always support the club and don''t support the protests, but i respect their reasons for it. They are supporting the club by wanting what''s best for NCFC and not letting the cook get away with prudence without ambition. 14years ago we were 3rd in the premier league, a year later we were beating Bayern Munich at the Olympic Stadium. Now we are languishing in the lower reaches of the second tier of English football. 3years ago we were back in the Prem. We may be small and provincial, but we have more supporters than most of this division, and some of the prem.

  4. I''m fairly sure we all know that Poland haven''t performed against England for the last 35years.However - if the teams were to play each other now, i would fancy a Polish victory.especialy with Eby Smolarek in the form he is in at the moment.but if you''d like to play that game Bly, could you tell us whether England qualified for Euro2008 and whether Poland did?I''m sure you know.Thanks.

    Kick it Off,

I''d say absolutely you''re right, particularly about the press, they have a lot to answer for. Especially tabloids like THE SUN. I remember France 1998 when England ''fans'' made me feel so ashamed with their behaviour. The next day the Sun called them "thugs" etc, yet I can guarantee it was that ''newspaper'' that they all read in first place, and where they got their bigoted xenephobic attitudes from.

It''s not just in sport these newpapers have screwed things up, it''s done a lot of social damage too, helping turn a great deal of people in this country into dribbling knee-jerk morons. I''m not saying all Sun readers are like this, but if it''s your only source of information I''d imagine your world view is pretty shafted.

Welcome to England by the way, I hope not too many idiots have given you a hard time for being a pole.
lol by the way, thanks for the welcome but ive been here for a long time!! idiots have always given me a hard time for being a pole - "we saved you in the war" etc - well actually, no, i think you''ll find a combined effort of the americans and the russians drove the Nazis out of poland - and thats no dis-respect to British servicemen by the way - the contribution they gave in both wars was fantastic and i have nothing but the utmost respect for soldiers past and present.Another i commonly get is "F**k off back to Auschwitz, you Jew" - i find this hilarious as A) my family are not Jewish, like the vast majority of Poles they are Catholic, and B) It really is tiny narrow-minded bigotry at its worst - its like the oratory equivalent of the daily star!!

Owen - what has he done since he was 17? He had the one good tournament and has hung on to that reputation for 10YEARS!!!!   he is useless, but there dont seem to be many alternatives worringly for you!!
Errrm, what has Owen done since he was 17??? How about score 40 goals in 88 internationals, making him our 3rd highest goal scorer of all time.

He was top scorer in the premier league twice, European footballer of the year and has scored 187 goals in 354 club appearances, giving him a better than one goal in two ratio.

Criticise the other "footballers" on our team all you like, but Michael has never let us down. LAY OFF!
OK!! fair enough, i cant argue with those stats, and i guess hadn''t realised how good his career had been!! Im not one for following premiership matters unless we''re there!! Crouch is one i can''t make my mind up on as he always appears clueless, like the flick on he sent the wrong side of the area against Croatia when Defoe was running in, but his touch seems to have improved a lot!! i know i will prob get slated for this but the guy is 6''7 and i dont believe he can aim headers!! surely he should be the most threatening from set pieces, not John Terry?!?! I honestly cant understand why Defoe is so left out everywhere he plays! I feel really sorry for the guy as he is one who ive only ever seen give 100%, correct me if im wrong by the way as im obviouisly not as well versed in England performances as most on here, But for me he has always looked dangerous and threatening?!

  7. see this is what i''m more used to!! i didnt come on here to gloat - im sorry if you seem to have mis-interpreted what I was saying but i think i have been both honest and respectful when it would be all too easy for me to gloat!!! the last thing i want to do is rub it in - to my friends, of course i have been, but i am not a wind-up merchant or attention seeker - i was merely offering a perception from a different point of view. Its not always that easy to be objective when it is your team or your country. I was just offering my views on the hot topic of the day. and something for people to think about.I put being polish on two different threads, this was to avoid confusion as people who hadnt read the thread where i first mentioned it may have been a little confused otherwise. I apologise for my simple statement of fact about where I am from, i didn''t realise mentioning it twice would cause such deep cuts and widespread offence.Confused [8-)]If the roles were reversed, and say England had qualified and Russia hadnt, And Russia sacked their manager, would you assume that the England manager would go over there instead of taking the team he had led thru the qualifiers into the finals? Its not realistic, that was my point.and on your point of why am i here? i''m not even going to dignify it with a response except i think it is suffice to say that you wouldnt be telling a patriotic englishman who lived in say America to get back over here would you?

  8. Terrific responses here, its a rarity that i actually get agreed with and not disparraged for my heritage!! You only have to look as far as Danny Dyer''s series on football hooligans and the real football firms to see how bad Polish fans can be - its on an obscure sky channel fairly late - but last night''s was on Polish derbys and the violence therein and it was abhorrant. It happens all over the world and whilst I''m not saying by any means England fans are the only ones - I didn''t hear any booing of GSTQ last night. Or against Russia for that matter. You will get small-minded bigots wherever you go but England seem to have a more vocal section than most!! On the Owen/Crouch point.... Owen in my opinion is not a great player, or even a particularly good one and i think that it highlights Englands weaknesses when he is your main goal threat. He wouldn''t get in the Polish team - We have Eby Smolarek - who is very similar in style to Owen but technically better and more clinical, i think Owen wastes rather a lot for an international calibre striker. Crouch for me is a bit of a non-entity, He always seems to score but he then goes on to make bad decisions, passing when he should shoot etc. For me he is not good enough, I was shocked by Heskey''s inclusion but by god he justified it!! He was excellent when he played and looked a much better bet than Crouch!! He made Owen look better than he usually does in my opinion.I have to say though, Rugby fans seem an entirely different breed, players too, if you want to see an England team play with pride and passion, look no further than them....No dissent, no disrespect, just pure honest guile and a will to fight and give100% for their country. There doesn''t seem to be the same arrogance and expectation there either, despite being holders, they were still not expected to re-create anything like the achievements of 03. They took every match as it came and took nothing for granted and they got what they deserved, nearly. But even after losing the world cup final, they still came out with huge amounts of respect.Until the football team produce anything like the sort of passion the rugby players do when they pull on that England shirt, England won''t win anything and you will be forced to endure the same lacklustre performances time and again. Whilst you do have a good crop of individual players, there isn''yt the pride there to bond them into a team and until that comes i think you''re in for a few long years!!

  9. ok fair enough if this was the case and id say the Croatians were out of order for this, however, id hope that you know that this is not unusual behaviour for England fans and that BBC often turn the crowd microphones off for the national anthems as they are so ashamed at the booing by England fans and the light this shows them in across the globe. It was not an ivory tower comment as poland''s fans are by no means angels!! im sorry it came across this way, and for any offence caused. I can only apologise and hasten to point out that the BBc did not show the servicemen or the Croatian fans reacting to them.

I would go for Guus Hiddink or Jose Mourinho.........................

    OTBC
Now being Polish, and having suffered abuse for this all my life at the hands of England fans (as i live in England) - i find this absolutely delightful that finally england have received justice for so many years of poor performances and lucky escapes. The deal has been sweetened by Poland already having secured qualification and top of their group (which included Portugal!!) at that.On the replacement note.... why on Earth, would Guus Hiddink, leave a team that he successfully steered past England into the finals, that respect him, that play for him and the shirt, who are proud of their country and give 100% every game... to come to a bunch of overpaid primadonnas who cant even be bothered to turn up and play to their abilities? A team who are so arrogant and complacent, and think they have a god-given right to win every game because they are England? A team who couldnt even do the job against a very poor Macedonian side who played with pride because they thought they would win just by turning up?Not a chance of Hiddink and I can''t see why Mourinho would want it either to be honest - he said he doesn''t agree with Foreign coaches and his ambition is to manage Portugal.
What were you before? Or are you a glory hunter now Poland  has qualified? [:D]
LOL :D - i meant now as a figure of speech, like one of those werthers original grandads starting a story off...."Now, When i was a boy...."

  11. I am Polish, but live in England....MY perception of your qualifying campaign is that you have been awful. Tactically inept, Poor personnel selections and an awful attitude have cost you. The English press need to learn when to keep their mouths shut. It is their complaceny and subtle racism that makes English fans appear arrogant, whilst this is clearly not representative of all fans, some seem to believe all the crap the press write. The press make England out to be world beaters, but they aren''t. Every time England qualify, the media is filled with crap about how a dove flew over a clifftop in North Devon at 3am on a full moon and this is an omen England will win the world cup etc. It''s ridiculous. England expect to win everything, but do not have the quality of players or the fight, passion and pride to win anything.England do have a few decent players, but they are a poor team and rely too much on individual contributions and not on a team performance. The players look arrogant and conceited and they think they have a right to win. They do not treat teams with the respect they deserve and are punished for it time and again. usually it ends with a lucky escape or a miracle to see them through after poor performances....they had their miracle on Saturday and they blew it last night. The England fans i would just like to point out - were disgraceful last night, booing the national anthem of the Croatians. This is so disrespectful and for that gesture alone, they got what they deserved last night. If a team from another country booed God Save the Queen then there would be uproar, with the press describing them as animals etc etc.....on that note also and to illustrate my press point, The Daily Mirror on monday ran a feature on the front page of its football pullout - Owed By England: Award Israel players OBE''s for their services to the country after saving our campaign and helping us qualify. A) this is ludicrous. B) bit premature don''t you think? The England team needs a complete overhaul. Green in goal for me, the others cant cut it.defensively - England were awful last night, everytime Croatia went forward they looked like scoring and England didnt know how to handle them.midfield - Gerrard and Lampard....Cant cut it. They do not deserve a starting place, they don''t care enough. Should never start in the same team anyway as they cant play together but they do nothing to warrant a starting berth in my book. SWP is far too small and lightweight and his final ball is terrible. Beckham is past it, although decent performance last night, not that thats sayiong much!!!forwards - rely far too much on rooney, without him you are clueless. Crouch is a joke, despite his good performance last night and his record of goals for England, he screws everything else up! he cant header, and he struggles to lay simple passes. Owen - what has he done since he was 17? He had the one good tournament and has hung on to that reputation for 10YEARS!!!!   he is useless, but there dont seem to be many alternatives worringly for you!!

  12. Kneejerk reaction to a very poor campaign from England. Foreign players are not the problem - the problem is the disgusting attitude of the England team. Players need to come out with a humble attitude and earn the right to play - so they get paid 150k a week at their clubs and are good players....SO WHAT? if they don''t have the passion and pride to go with the ability and are so complacent as to assume they will win every game, what do you expect to happen? some of these players need their heads ripping off as it is their arrogance that is killing the game....NOT foreign players.... Italy, Spain, France, Germany....All big leagues, all teams that have qualified and all with an influx of foreign players in their leagues.

An interesting post bro, have to say from our conversations the other day I agree with you entirely that the club should refund your ticket as the contract terms clearly state that you have a right to such a refund less the full casual price of all the games gone so far.

However, I do agree with ''City Boy'' that posting it on the forum doesn''t seem the best thing to do from the club''s point of view - you could well precipitate other season ticket cancellations which is only going to cause the club to go one way. Whilst I totally respect your right to cancel, you must accept that if more people did the same as you then it would only create more financial problems for the club.

Regarding your statement to ''Barclayman'' where you stated that just turning up for matches doesn''t make you a better fan, I do have to disagree. Surely the amount of times that you attend games, and therefore the amount of money you put into the club and support the club both vocally and financially is the BEST way in which to gauge how good a supporter you really are!

It''ll be shame not to meet for a pint or 4 before the games coming up in the castlegates - I hope you find something more interesting to do with the wife![D]
I have to in turn disagree with you Beefy - I live 200miles away, i have had canariesworld despite its poor service for four years, i have supported the club and attended WHEN I CAN for the past 18 years. i attended my first game at 2years old, i have bought countless amounts of merchandise, see the yellas every opportunity i get but in terms of expense, distance and general logistics and feasability, me attending every home match is not practical. nor is me attending every home match, being as i have to work on saturdays quite often. I was there the night we put Bayern out of the UEFA cup, I had the day off school to go. I have supported this club through the good times and the bad times, and will always love this club no matter what. I am thinking of emigrating and Norwich factors into the equation massively as im not convinced i could bear to be so far from my beloved team....I am therefore contemplating dropping everything i have at home and making the move over to Norwich to start afresh - that means finding a house, finding a job, leaving all my friends and family over here and having a clean slate in the City, a major factor being that i have never had the chance to have a season ticket before. and you are gauging my support by how often i get to games currently?! you sir, are a total idiot.

  15. 2 other sites reporting it now - cheepshot.co.uk and tribalfootball.com

it appears it is a done deal.....

I would like to be the first to say well done Glenn, fantastic signing if all is as appears to be.....Quashie is just the sort of creativity we need!!

Feel sorry for Fozzy tho, just getting back to fitness and not going to get a chance! but i must say i would rather have Quashie!

    is this a joke ....??

benjani. what sort of a reason is ''top scorer in the prem'' as to why he would come here on loan. dear god how stupid can you get.

eduardo. cost 9 million didnt he? getting games in the side who are top of the league, yeh good one.

robbie keane. the same robbie keane that is in top form scoring and assisting many goals in spurs first team ... yeh you might be onto something there ... not.
How stupid can u get indeed? its quite obviously a joke. i somehow dont think the poster was being serious when this was suggested. it was a lighthearted thread condemned with vitriol and suspicion!! grow up! it was just a joke!!

  17. I concur Lucky Green - clubfoot is a shocking song for a team to come out to, but also have to say the choice was shocking....we will rock you is far to cheesy - id be expecting good old john fashanu to come out (maybe in a cheeky tweed jacket!) and introduce the gladiators...Hang on, thats not a bad idea!! Introduce the players one by one, as if they were gladiators....maybe give them some helmets - a few swords here and there, and maybe, we''d have half a chance. But back to the point - Faithless - Insomnia is a great choice, it was our tune in the promotion season but i think its had its time now, and lots of other clubs use it.I think two tribes is a great shout - think it would work really well.Other possibilities: ''See who I am'' by Within Temptation (My fave choice!!)        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=636546BAt0UAdagio for strings - (original, william orbit, or tiesto mix!)Killer - Seal (Adamski remix)It''s my turn - AngelicBeast and the Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJwllkUwB90
