1.
I''ve really not had a great two days on here have I, think I should take a break.

I don''t think he has said it, I''ve taken something written in jest on facebook too literally and then almost started a game of Chinese whispers.

It would probably help if I was on twitter, I always rely on second hand information on McNally tweets etc because I don''t tweet.

Should fact check in future.

On the plus side, maybe he will be sacked in the morning, I''d be happy with that. But then maybe the dreaded "vote of confidence" comes first.

Some would argue that he had his ''vote of confidence'' from McNally about three weeks ago though.

I''ve made a wally of myself twice in two days on here, time to cut my losses I think before I get a Norwich City style mauling.

One interesting thing that I can share and verify though is that last night Cian Hughton, the son of Chris Hughton, deleted his Twitter account.
McNally no longer tweets.

2.
Win on sat (& I think we will) hughton is safe

Draw- difficult one but hughton will be skating on thin ice!

Lose- & hughton haters will be happy as he will go

I am a fan of hughton as I think alot can be said of stability at a football club. Can''t help but think o''neill might fancy another go at the club.
O''neill is going to take the Ireland job with Roy Keane as his assistant. Been common knowledge for days. Do keep up.

3. I''ll go with Robert Griffin III, Quarterback of the Washington Redskins who runs the 400m hurdles in Olympic time...
But, if we''re sticking strictly to football in the British sense of the word rather than the Americanism, I''ll have a bit of a Polish bias here and go for Piotr Zielinski, a fantastic young CM, 19 years old and playing regularly in behind Antonio Di Natale at Udinese. Does everything well and is direct enough to run at players at pace. I also love Jakub Blaszczykowski, when he is on form he really is a wonderful player to watch.

Kick It - thanks for your insight into the inspirations behind a UK american footie fan, good to hear it articulated with passion and interest. I would still say I dislike the sport by default, but accept that is probably because of my ignorance and prejudice in relation to it :-)  Commiserations on last night''s result by the way.

2 (genuine) questions: do you consider the feats of the original franchise Boston Braves/Redskins as part of the true history of the club you now support? And will you still feel happy supporting them if/when they get renamed the Washington Native Americans or similar?!
Hi Generation, no I only really count the feats of the WASHINGTON Redskins, not the Boston era. I would feel happy supporting them if they were renamed, but I would favour something that favours the native american theme, A move back to the "Braves" would be my preference, Potomac was the Indian tribe native to the DC area so I wouldn''t mind the Washington Potomacs (although it doesn''t sound brilliant). I dont want them to go with something generic like the "Presidents" or the "Bandits" or other such nonsense. Stay true to the traditions of the club, but I don''t think the name is all that important. I doubt it''ll happen soon anyway, Dan Snyder (Redskins owner) has said that he won''t change the name, and it seems to be a case of media throwing up the usual storm about the name (Happens at least once a year), although it is a bit more sustained this time round. I think it''s inevitable it will change sooner or later though, and Im not averse to that, if anything, I would probably be a little more comfortable supporting them if no-one was getting offended by the name (Although much of that is media hyperbole, most native americans actually aren''t bothered by the name, but a significant minority are).

Believe me, the intensity and Noise at an NFL game is easily comparable to Premier league game.  Try a Redskins/Cowboys game, or a Jets/Pats game.

The rivalries are just as intense, however maybe our American friends have just evolved a little more and realise that there is no point in kicking the living cr*p out of someone just because they support another team.

However I can easily sit down with supporters of any team and have a pretty civilised debate about the sport.  And I believe most supporters could do the same, it is just a rabid few who unfortunately are several yards short of a first down! So to speak!

Yessssssss. Another Redskins AND Norwich fan. Thought I was the only one!
There''s no logic to me supporting the Skins, I just started watching a Superbowl, enjoyed it, so started streaming games and eventually had to pick a team as I was watching so much NFL. I forget how exactly I decided on the Skins, but I''m glad I did. My bro is getting into American football now too, and he knows the family lineage is drawn and it''s Redskins or bust.
In terms of the strength of my allegiance, Norwich will always be first as I was going to games at 2 years old and formed a  massive part of my childhood, but Redskins come very close in second. I get the same buzz when RG3 throws a TD, or D-Hall grabs a pick-6 as I do when Norwich score.
American football is a fantastic sport, and vastly underrated, mainly because it is so complex, most people can''t be bothered to understand it imo.
Speaking of which, if you think the support isn''t fanatical, and you happen to be up at 1:30am on Sunday night/Monday morning, find yourself a stream of the Redskins vs the cowb**ches. Biggest rivalry in the NFL. As Charley Mann said "When you sign with the Redskins, you''re signing a contract to HATE the Cowboys". That''s just how it is, even the players buy into the rivalry (waaaaaaay more so than footballers do). The rivalry is intense. I hate the Cowb**ches as much as I hate Ipsh**.
The fans are much more of a community with NFL too. They get together in thousands at the stadiums to watch the draft (You see maybe 50 at the training ground of the big clubs on transfer deadline day which is the closest comparable event), they spend the entire day before a game drinking and BBQing in the car park with fellow fans (tailgating) etc. It''s not better or worse, just a different vibe, but the passion and pride is just as deeply etched into the psyche of NFL fans as football supporters and to say otherwise is incredibly ignorant.
The rivalries always tend to produce spectacular moments too. Like the Monday Night Miracle. There is no Redskins fan alive who wouldn''t have this in their top 3 games of all time, ahead of at least one of the Superbowl wins. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MQnxQdvIgY << 13-0 down with less than 4 minutes to go, away at Dallas and a thoroughly miserable night altogether.... 4th down and 15. Needing 15 yards out of the play or the game is essentially over. Brunell throws a beauty over the Top for Santana Moss to get the Touch Down. Redskins force Cowboys to punt and within 71 seconds are celebrating again after another stunning throw from Brunell, caught in-stride by Moss and run into the end zone for a Touch down. Novak makes both extra points and Redskins win gloriously in the Cowboys own backyard. Just as good as beating Ipswich 5-1 at Poorman Road

6.
The free travel doesn''t help poor me living up in Yorkshire! Perhaps they could pick me up on the way to Newcastle and Sunderland? I''ll even make my way to Wetherby services for them!
Agreed. Same way Jas'' suggestion doesn''t help the thousands of us too far away from Carrow Road to have a season ticket who only really have the opportunity to go to away games, but have been doing so loyally for years.

7. With Snodgrass seemingly unable to beat the first man at the moment, and Pilks woeful effort that resulted in the second goal today, I would like to see someone else delivering the corners for a while.
My choice would be Olsson, as he is quick enough to get back and cover if it''s cleared and he demonstrated today (and past games) that he has an excellent delivery on him.
Thoughts?

8. Had 5live on in the car and apparently our lad Declan has made two howlers today.
Preston lost 2-0 and for the first he dropped a simple save at strikers feet and the second he has let a weak shot squirm through his hands.
He also apparently made 4 "world class" saves but needless to say those will be quickly forgotten.
Hopefully he will bounce back quickly. Preston currently sit 5th in the table and he has 6 clean sheets in 10 games in the league this season so it appears his loan spell so far is pretty successful.

9.
I don''t know if my memory is playing tricks or not. I have a strong recollection of following the Bayern team bus with a very despondent Franz Beckenbauer looking out of the back window, up Fifers lane towards Norwich airport. This was on the morning after the game. Could I be right ?
Very possibly right. Beckenbauer was definitely at the game as I was sat about 6 seats away from him!!

10. The man was outstanding today, one of the best CM performances I can remember. He is the real deal and whilst I agree he is destined for bigger and brighter things than us, I also believe we will get more than one season out of him. At least 2. 3 if we''re lucky.

11. So who was to blame in your opinion?

Villa have not kept a clean sheet in 26 games before today.

We have scored 3 goals in the last 5 games.

On paper we are a top 10 squad. Not top 6 squad but you don''t have to be a top 6 squad to avoid defeat to Villa at home. That is a game that every team should be looking to win, particularly when they are so god-awful defensively.

So calling people a "bunch of losers" and making some spurious claim about us not being a top 6 team therefore we shouldn''t expect better than another relatively dire performance, at home, against a poor Villa team who lost their talisman early doors AND we had a bloody penalty. I think it is you who needs a reality check because your logic holds absolutely no common sense whatsoever.

It''s all well and good jumping on here and calling people numptys but without making any points or contribution to debate that isn''t hyperbolic, passive-aggressive nonsense, yourself, then you just look like a bit of an attention seeker to be honest.

12. We lacked urgency going forward. We completed nearly double the amount of passes that Villa did, although passing wasn''t necessary to be fair when they could stroll through our defence unchallenged at various points in the first half.

Why the hell did Snodgrass take the bloody pen? Wolfy could do with a goal, and we get a penalty at 0-0 with 84 minutes left to play. There''s not many situations that have less pressure to score the pen than that. What a ****ing **** penalty it was too.

Snodgrass flattered to deceive as he seems to be doing relatively often. Reminds me of Wes in so much as he is all flash and very little end product at the moment. His crossing today was absolutely woeful. How many times of hoofing in high balls right down Guzan''s throat would it have taken before he learnt his lesson? Corner after corner, cross after cross, and still he didn''t learn.

Wolfy looked a lot more involved today than he has done recently. Unlucky with the header that wasn''t as the defender had his hand up stopping him from heading it. Needs to be braver and go for the header anyway. Hooper didn''t do much but was unlucky with the 6yarder as he clearly expected Wolfy to get to it and it just kind of hit Hooper when RVW didn''t connect.

Ref had a shocker.

Ryan Bennett played very well and I was impressed with him. Looked composed and assured for the most part.

Midfield were anonymous except Snoddy.

Norfolk Cafu was good, Ruddy good, Turner was mostly good but made some silly errors including breaking the line and playing everyone on side for the goal.

Redmond looked like he could do with a rest.

Garrido was better today than he has been recently but I''d still rather see Olsson in his place.

Today was the final straw for me with Hughton. He doesn''t seem to be able to motivate the players, or instill any desire/passion into them. On paper we have a top 10 squad, and I feel that it''s about time we got someone in with a bit more attacking intent and tactical nous. Hughton seems devoid of ideas outside of 4-5-1 and whilst I appreciate that he made attacking changes today, it''s the first time I can remember him doing so. I simply feel with the tools he has been given Hughton is not doing as good as someone else could, and whilst he''s probably good enough to keep us up again, I think we would be better suited to a new set of ideas and tactics coming into the club.

13. Fenerbahce are subject to a 10 foreigners limit in Turkish league and are 1 over that currently. They just signed Bruno Alves who is ahead of Yobo in the pecking order. I watch Fenerbahce regularly (I lived in Turkey and follow them as a second team) and I would happily take Yobo off their hands. He may be aging, but he is still fast, strong, and he''s a real leader of men. Always gives 100% to the cause. He would be excellent cover for Bass/Turner, and is good enough to push Turner for his spot in the 11.

14.
Keeping an eye on any sort of sniff of a signing for us today, so far I have seen:

Andre Wisdom

Diego Cunha

Gareth McCleary

Michael Kightly

James Troisi

Sam Byram

Luke Wilkinson

Becchio, Ayala, Butterfield all wanted by ''Boro

Any of those names take our fancy?
Diego would be insane. Would be a HUGE upgrade on Hooly, and he scores goals at a decent rate too. I struggle to see him coming to us though, but if he did I would be very excited.
