I think everyone realises that mate. It's just not that simple nowadays though, is what most are inferring.

Didn't Webber say in an interview recently that if/ when we sell players, the figures 'likely start with a 3' or words to that effect.
Giving a pretty clear indication of what fees they are expecting.

I think sadly that the fact he stayed last season after relegation and then played a huge part in getting promoted, earns him the goodwill to get the big move. He probably could have moved on then (for less money most likely) but stayed and knuckled down.
Agree though that even 40million seems cheap. He provides so much to the team.

I'm sure he will be fine and all, but given the last time he was thrust into the spotlight at a seconds notice was when he played in goal against Turkey and well.. Worst match of his career. Still, very good chance for him to impress and get some solid time and experience before he comes back to us for the Prem. Let's just pray he remains injury free!
He had zero prep time for that Turkey game. Right up until ten mins before kick off they were still more focused on Cillessens knock than preparing Tim.
Should have more notice this time! I think fans underestimate the importance of warmup etc. Obviously very different if your starting

Interesting in that recent Ben Gibson interview he mentioned this as one of the small touches that impressed him. The day after he signed or thereabouts they had him up on the walls. Said it made him feel like they were proud to sign him etc.

How have man utd not faced fines or deductions for their fans getting the game Vs Liverpool postponed? Surely that just sends a really bad signal.
-
To be fair that's a great goal. However the ref ruined this game.

Book him for diving!

Was so clear he was pulling out of that. What an embarrassment that Pearson is

If you're of a better standard I can definitely put you in touch with a suitable club, I'm on the league committee.
Any opinion on Newton Flotman dude? Not sure what standard they are. I'm by no means elite shall we say

My brother-in-law started a couple of years back, it sounds decent, 1 game every 2-3 weeks so not a huge commitment and it's rolling subs so you can have regular sit downs! Apparently the bottom divisions aren't the greatest either.
You got a club in mind?
Ah didn't realise it was rolling subs. Good idea.
Newton Flotman, pretty local to me. League 2 I think. Hopefully not toooo good haha

Might possibly be joining a veterans team in a couple of weeks. Been out of football for awhile but after turning 35 in January, I thought why not?
Anyone else play?

Really unlucky there. Have to say though, should have been out of sight with all the chances

Looks very composed so far.
The other thing that's struck me is his positioning seems sound.

You think we were relegated due to Tim Krul? I don't think a different goalkeeper would have ment staying up. If anything without him it would have been a worse points tally.

Im not sure whether I would feel too confident with him between the sticks in the Prem, despite having a good season for us.
Now a lot of people are not going to agree with the above, but I feel his flaws will be exposed heavily in the Prem.
Did you not watch Norwich 2 seasons ago? He was POTS. In the Prem.

He's been out for 7 months up until a month ago. Played 5 league games this season.
As others have said, you need 3 keepers in a squad. Saying he shouldn't be anywhere near it indicates there's 3 others on a whole different level to Tim. Which just isn't true in my opinion.

Who do you think is way ahead of him then?

Not long turned 35!

Player A: effective for 90 minutes and scores
Player B: ineffective for 90 minutes but scores
Player B is a higher level player?
I wasn't comparing Cantwell and Pukki. I was saying that someone who can produce an assist or goal and change a game, despite being poor overall, will always be in high regard as a 'premiership standard' player.
You inferred that Cantwell isn't Prem standard and is overrated by most. I'd say the opposite, he seems underrated by many on here. Perhaps not so much lately.

This happened earlier this week on holiday 🤣
Posted it on Reddit and it ended up on HIGNFY and Mirror online!
Holidaying in the Lake District. We were on a cycle trail along a river which goes over a number of bridges. Beautiful day, the scenery is amazing.
We come to an area where you can go down to the water. Really idyllic. I'm with in-laws and brother in laws family, we have 4 dogs between us.
My dog (River) heads off downstream, obviously has a scent of something. After a few minutes you can barely see her in the distance. She's not coming to the whistle, so I go and stand on a prominent rock, and start shouting her name.
For a solid minute and in multiple tones, I loudly bellow "RIVER! RIVERRR! RIVERRR! "
There are people on the bridge above, there are family's around me having picnics. My family are laughing at me on the bank and I have no idea why.
It was only after she'd returned finally that they were like "you're just shouting River at the river and none of these people know why"
