He''s tried but his signing has largely been a total failure. Yes, he''s scored the odd goal, mainly in defeat. I suppose we can all look back at aspects of the season and use hindsight to suit our arguments, but I can''t help thinking that his signing, coupled with not signing a defender in that window, effectively put the nail in our all too familiar relegation coffin. We shouldn''t be surprised. Our fall to the Championship is as inevitable as Ipswich not filling their stadium every week. What a shame we''ve blown it again. -
Redmond, Brady, Tettey and Naismith will all be snapped up I think. Perhaps Klose too. Funny how none of our strikers will be sought after. Mind you, we only own one first team striker now. -
Agreed with every word -
Jarvis started well but tailed off since injury. I think our problems have been obvious for all to see. We have signed players six months too late. We knew Jerome wouldn''t score the goals we needed but persisted with him. Plus we leak goals like nobodies business. We are where we deserve to be. From here, I guess it''s all about how much we want it. -
I take your point but honestly think we were best selling him, especially when offered £7m for a player with limited ability. We''ve had the best of him too. All round right decision, and like you said, we''ve upgraded. -
Who are you aiming that at? -
Johnson has struggled in a struggling (for their standards) Derby side this season. Selling him was good business. -
Losing 7 out of the last 8 games isn''t unlucky. It''s not about luck over the course of a 38 game season. As it stands, we''re going down. I see little to suggest that this will change. -
I take some heart from our recent displays too. A lot depends on whether the Bamford move works out for us. I know we have winnable games left to play but the recent evidence of 7 defeats in 8 suggests that those winnable games are far from bankers. -
Us, Newcastle & Villa to drop. Sunderland have enough and are picking up points. Swansea too. Shame. -
I highly doubt that us, Newcastle or Sunderland could''ve gone to Arsenal tonight and won the game. Fair play to Swansea. I''ve been so positive up until now but can''t see us going to Swansea and winning. A point at this stage isn''t good enough either. I think Swansea are capable of gaining enough points from here to stay up. I think Sunderland then look most likely to stay up. They are capable of picking up points I.e. United at home, Liverpool away, palace at home etc. They have a proven goalscorer. Big Sam has a brilliant record too. It''s not looking good for us and Newcastle. -
As we haven''t won in two months I''m not optimistic about these games. I don''t believe that our group of players will go to Swansea and win the game. A point isn''t good enough now either. I feel we signed players six months too late. We''ve left ourselves too much to do. -
I hoped we wouldn''t regret missing out on Afobe but.... -
I''ve been so positive up until now mate but just can''t see where our points will come from. We seem to be treating Newcastle and Sunderland as guaranteed wins. Why? We haven''t won in two months... -
A great day indeed. The Championship is where Norwich City are most comfortable. -
Think we''ve had it. Love Alex Neil but we''ve signed players six months too late, conceded too many goals, not scored enough, haven''t won for two months. The list goes on. We''ll always have that day at Wembley, shame we''ve messed it up though. -
We are bought out by mega rich owners. Fair play to Delia, Michael etc but until we have an influx of money from a rich owner, we will bounce between the leagues for years to come. Relegation is hard to take but unfortunately it''s the level we''re at currently. We are a top of the championship/bottom of the Premier League club. That''s not Alex Neil''s fault. The chance was there to stay up had we signed players last summer but alas, we left it too late. We will come again. Hopefully with owners with slightly deeper pockets. -
No idea on points tallies but here are my bottom 5...Norwich Sunderland-----SwanseaNewcastle Villa -
I also think we''ll stay up. Keep the faith. -
Had a feeling for us before today, thought we''d get a point. Alas, we come away with nothing, like most weeks. I think we''re going down but Alex Neil is still the man for our future. Hopefully we''ll bounce back within 1-3 seasons. Apart from a brief period over Christmas, we''ve consistently struggled. Unfortunately just not quite good enough. -
Yeah good performance but we''ve had it now. Just not good enough but we''ll hopefully be back up again in a few years time. -
Leicester 2-3 Norwich -
And there ends this thread. Haha. -
That''s a fair post, BroadstairsR. This is Alex Neil''s first really challenging period as a manager and some of our fans want him out at the very first sign of trouble. Poor.
Starting 11 for Swansea away...
