  1. Was told by a source a few days back that Oliveria would be our only incoming. I hoped he was wrong. Shame.
  2. Just patted myself on the back. Cheers 👍🏼
  3. I''ve had a bit of inside knowledge over the last couple of years that''s been proved to be correct. Unfortunately, my inside knowledge this time around has frustrated me, if true. Nelson Oliveira will likely be our only signing before Wednesday with as many as three players due to leave the club. Those players are Brady, Bassong and Lafferty. I''m hopefully of bringing in two strikers but very frustrating of Olivera is the best we can do after all this time.
  4. Haha it makes me laugh that Archant actually think this is breaking news. They''re so desperate to break something. It''s not news. In this day and age of football, a player saying he''s staying means nothing. If a decent club comes in, pretty sure he''ll want to go, whether he seems the type to force a move or not. This news means nothing. It''s not until after the window closes that we can be happy about this, if he''s still our player. If he has a good first half of the season, pretty sure he''ll be off in January anyway. Bit pessimistic but we''ve seen it happen before.
  5. Haha so it''s no news really because if a decent bid comes in, he''s off.
  6. Pretty sure they wouldn''t make such a big deal over the colour of our nets. Hope not anyway. Fairly sure this is contract related news.
  7. Actually, on second thoughts, I think Mr Klose has probably signed a new contract. A player signing would already be being talked about in other media outlets so I doubt it''s that. Could be CEO news but the more I think about it, the more I''m sure it''s Klose related. It just makes sense.
  8. If it''s yellow nets then Jesus, we are desperate for "get in" moments. My feeling is, it''s a new, established CEO.
  9. I heard a rumour that we haven''t actually made any bids for this player. Not sure if it''s true though.
  10. Assimbalonga and Canos would be fantastic business with hopefully a couple more to follow.
  11. Read that Liverpool are trying to screw us a little with performance fees etc so that''s probably the reason for the hold up.
  12. @ dale, I''m sorry to hear about your daughters illness. That''s absolutely awful. I can see how this would alter your point of view too. Having never experienced anything like that myself it''s impossible to put myself in your position. I do agree that Gazza doesn''t have many changes left. I''m fairly sure we''ll all wake up one day soon to the news we all expect to hear. Shame.
  13. @ Daly - Lets just hope you never suffer from any addictions in your life because if you did, I''m fairly sure you wouldn''t see yourself as a waster and want people to say ''good riddance'' to you. Yes Gazza has had more help than most and he''s thrown that help back in people''s faces at times, but he''s a lost soul, has more demons than any of us will ever understand and chooses to drown those demons in alcohol. That doesn''t make him a waster. Nor should we say good riddance. He''s a human being. We wish good riddance to the worst people in existence, the child killers etc, not Paul Gascoigne.
  14. I suppose so, yes. I''ve seen no evidence that Pinto and Klose were either available or unavailable during that summer. Not sure we were interested then.
  15. How do you know that Pinto, Klose and Naismith were unavailable last summer, Bethnal? Naismith was available but Everton didn''t sign their replacement so the deal fell through at the last hours.
  16. So sad. People have tried to help him but he seems beyond it. Any stint in rehab merely seems like a countdown until the next time he falls off the wagon. Fear for Gazza. So many demons. So sad. I recently watched the Euro 96 documentary and whilst all the other players happily reflected on that time, they all had their own lives and careers. Gazza is the one still stuck in that time. Struggling without the fame, fortune, adulation. Still struggling with being an ex footballer, never to have those times again. I genuinely don''t think anything can truly aid him now because he will never have what he wants the most - his best days as a footballer back.
  17. * must have to give some indication of wages
  18. Yeah not sure id call that Jan window successful. The reason for focussing on last summer is because that''s what effectively got us relegated. Tackling a premier league season with championship players. Having 5 players in the building then losing them is awful business. I don''t know the way it works fully but if you get players in the building, before this happens you just have to give some indication of wages otherwise they wouldn''t waste their time. We just didn''t do enough. I think it''s fair to be concerned at this summers window because our last summer window was such a mess up. I''m hoping we''ve learned lessons. Once you get a player through the door, it''s all in your hands. He''s yours to lose. Losing five last summer was horrendous business.
  19. It''s not a case of being illogical. People on here will know of my correct knowledge in the past relating to behind the scenes info, so when I say that last summer Norwich had 5 players at Colney last summer that didn''t end up signing for us, I''d say that''s cause for some concern. Why were these players allowed to get away?! This is why I''m a bit concerned. I didn''t want Fletcher or that lad from Reading but both have ended up at promotion rivals, yet I have it on good authority that we wanted them both. If that''s the case, and Alex believed these players could help us gain promotion, why did they slip through the net?
