In your opinion.

He's poor tonight, end of
And poor at Brentford. Another team that pressed us really well. Of course he had a niggle, but Cantwell excels when afforded time on the ball. Under pressure he's actually quite slow to react and prone to a mistake.

In some games, Steipermann is better than Cantwell. Depends on the opposition and set up.

Cantwell poor.. I'm not keen on Farke's obsession with playing three number 10 type players behind Pukki, especially away from home. I know Cantwell and Buendia clicked last time out, but that rarely happens. Really need a bit more pace and directness. We badly miss Onel in games like this.

Brilliant boys, get in! 2-1 again!

Just now, king canary said:Only concern is Cantwell likes to play narrow and Sorenson isnt going to be naturally overlapping to exploit that space. You don't want Dowell, Buendia and Cantwell all getting in each others way in the middle.
Agree with this. Bar Aarons, we lack pace too, particularly on the left.

Need Vrancic on. Too predictable going forward, need some incision.

Agreed.. but I also think without a Vrancic or Rupp next to Skipp our possession game is weakened.

Corrected that for you 😉

One of Norwich's best ever. Hall of famer already secured. Literally the success we've had over the last couple of years wouldn't have happened without Pukki. A very special player, we really are lucky to have him. Similar to Huckerby, being honest, too good for us really.

Just now, dylanisabaddog said:When you give the ball away unnecessarily in the Championship you get away with it a lot of the time. In the Premier League you don't. Give the opposition the ball in your own half and even the mid table teams punish you. We gave the ball away in dangerous positions a lot today.
Yeah, I get that. But it's completely irrelevant. We're a championship side this season and should only be measured by what we do against our championship rivals. Forget the Premier League!

Sorry, I meant his one If we were playing a Premier League team we would have been hammered.

The referees in this division are awful
We should have had the game won by half time.

Skipp's passing was awful
The guy on Radio Norfolk makes things sound much worse than they are
Positives
Ipswich lost 😂
We have the best team and squad in this division by some distance.
The substitutes turned the game round when they came on.
Whatever your views of Kenny he is a very good player at this level.
Ditto Todd Cantwell who we will struggle to hold on to in January. He is a Premier League player.
Sorenson is a right footed midfield player playing at left back. Look forward to seeing him play in his natural position. I think we've signed a gem.
I'm quite old and remember Ted McDougall. Teemu is as good as scoring goals as Ted but brings so much more to the team.
We have the best team and squad in this division by some distance. Ridiculous comment!
Ditto Todd Cantwell who we will struggle to hold on to in January. He is a Premier League player. From a 20 minute cameo? He did fine when he came on, but nothing special! Vrancic much better.

Just now, sonyc said:Big call out for Farke today whose subs changed the dynamic of the match. Blackburn pressed us like no other team this season and somehow Todd and Kenny disrupted Blackburn. A good 'performance' again by DF in his use of subs. We game managed very well too.
I think their own subs helped disrupt them to be honest.

Superb win that. Blackburn are a really good side this year.
Another super display by Vrancic in the first half today aswell... but save the limelight for Pukki. What an absolute legend he is. Love him. he's equal par to Grant Holt, Darren Huckerby and Iwan Roberts now. No question for me.

Vrancic?

I wouldn't bet on that. Not Farke's style to change a winning side. And Steipermann is a big part of that. Dowell for all we know could be useless (not that I think he will be).
-
As predicted, just look at the results since Steipermann has returned to the side. They speak for themselves. His link up play last night at times was fantastic. Watch the highlights for a reminder. He's pretty much involved with every attack!

At this level, Kenny should never play ahead of Vrancic for me. If we need a more mobile defensive option next to Skipp, then Rupp and Sorensen would be my picks.

Have to say Vrancic once again proved how important he is to the side last night. 'Farkeball' works it's best when he plays. I love how he sits off the front 4 and always looks for the forward ball into them. When teams park the bus, the front four often hit a dead end, but they always have the option of playing back to Vrancic. This enables the play to be recycled rather than dying out, which keeps the pressure pretty relentless sometimes. The other brilliant thing Vrancic does in the above scenario is not play the easy predictable ball, but is almost always accurate with the difficult option. This makes it even harder to defend against and release the pressure. He's brilliant to watch.
I also think Cantwell will benefit from an extended run of games with Vrancic behind him. Cantwell is a busy player, always looking to move. He'll be in the pockets an intelligent, technical player, like Vrancic can find.
-
We're still far from our best. Hopefully we've turned the corner with injuries.. I'm confident as a few more return we're going to hit top gear and start hammering a few teams.
Big thumbs up for Zim tonight too!
