I think Buendia is more than a creative talent, he seems to have just the right amount of 'pitbull ' no one gets to bully him in games and he seems to want the ball at every opportunity.

    Absolutely spot on.

Even yesterday he was demanding where he wanted the ball to be played during the game. I believe it is due to the superb play of others in our team that he has not had the recognition this season he probably deserves.

His aggressive creativity takes us forward regularly, his recovery tackles are a bonus for a forward player and he has the heart of a lion up there.

Same heart as, Stiepermann, Onel and TC in our forward line in my opinion.

How could we drop Vrancic when he scored 2 and his deflected shot fell to Teemu for the other goal? Plus an all-round excellent performance.

He can't drop Vrancic at the moment, the man is on fire and seams to be involved in just about everything good at the moment. But having a playmaker such as Leitner to come back when needed is a testament to our recruitment policy.

Great times to be a Norwich City player, even better being a long term supporter.

All have been fantastic to watch recently. I'm absolutely loving Steipermann's control on the ball and dictation of the team going forward. Completely not what I was expecting of him this season. Has been pure class.

Agreed. He has literally grabbed this team and pushed it forward, with guile and aggression. Coupled with the coolness of the Ice man Teemu, who just plugs away and scores when he's ready! All is looking good.

There are so many good variables to this team. EB is a revelation in midfield, he oozes south American flair and temperament, Onel is quick, strong and gifted, and there can't be too much to say about our young players that hasn't been said. Outstanding.

Talking of outstanding; Ben Godfrey, what a game he had.

Krul is a decent shot stopper but anything in the box and the guy is beyond clueless. If Leeds have any sense they will pump balls into the box at every opportunity. Still think he will cost us at some point in this game.

He may not be the best keeper in the world but in that atmosphere he has been superb. Made a couple of great saves and commands the line.

Stop looking for the negative in arguably our most difficult match.

    WE ARE WINNING TWO NIL.

The footballing world are looking at our team and we are looking impressive!

  5. If we can keep a clean sheet for the first 25 mins and retain a bit of possession then it is quite likely the extra support that are turning up today for them will become restless. This could play onto our hands. However, we are vulnerable to an early goal, so need all the luck we can get.

  6. Seriously, following McCarthy they would have better spent their cash on a flag with Mr Potato Head instead of the next manager.

They could then change ears, eyes, shoes, even a hat, a nose, and a mouth depending on which unfortunate takes up the poisoned chalice, that is manager of port aloo road over the next few years.

  7. The derby is at a very interesting point in both our seasons.

IF we manage a win at Elland Rd then it may take the pressure of us needing a win in the game. We play without nerves and trounce them.

IF town scrape a win against Sheff Wed who are slap bang in mid table safety zone and ship goals in for fun. Then they may come here with a plan to grab a point and not be too gung ho derby style.

That said I'd take a 1-0 win right now.

So the reason you want Klose back is that you think promotion this season is the absolute priority, irrespective of how well equipped we are for it? Have people not learned anything from our experience over the last seven years?

Promotion is the absolute priority? 100% yes at this point in our campaign. We are on a roll, the team spirit is superb, we are getting the rub of the green and right now we have an excellent team.

Irrespective of how well equipped we are? We have strength in depth, a manager who can adapt as the games come in, and during games. We have a young expansive ball playing squad, one of our best I have seen in terms of team balance and individuals. There is no reason to suppose if we were fortunate to be promoted that we would not do well, relatively speaking of course.

Lessons learnt from the last seven years? Take every opportunity that comes. It is folly to suggest we would be better off staying in this division to gain experience or remain until the 'time is right', just ask that shower down the road how that looks. There are definitely lessons to be learnt agreed, but not availing ourselves to mid term financial stability is certainly not one of them.

My point I made earlier was not really about promotion though. It was being more secure in the upcoming games with our best and most experience central defender available.

Promotion?  Well that would be a nice outcome certainly

  9. Earlier this season, the seat of the chap who sits next to me was taken up by another man. This individual decided to give us all a full on running commentary on the game, describing the obvious pass (in his opinion mind) before it happened and explaining (in full) why a move broke down or failed in a goal.

It was soooooooooooooo annoying for the usual crowd, it actually became very funny (for a one game comedy moment only). and I had to stop my self laughing out loud.

Fortunately I have not seen him since and did not have the heart to ask my neighbour if he knew him and lent him the ticket.

From my experience some of the noisiest and most emotional "fans" are the least supportive.

And in the city stand, the people I hear most talk the most **** tho I haven't heard Mr " Bring on another striker" for a year or two.

But I do applaud ing come norwich etc for trying to build the atmosphere

Ha ha, I'd rather have an 'expert' giving loud constructive (or not ) comments (without booing of course) than those types who will sit the entire game without even unfolding arms to clap just once. Even when surrounded by others trying to encourage and create an atmosphere.

Display again looked good from our end. I'm hoping it will spread across the Barclay in time for that lot. Would be an impressive display.

So how exactly is Godfrey going to develop into this excellent player a season or two down the line, other than by being played right now?

Not sure if this is a serious question however :- Good coaching. Being played with an experienced centre back. Playing U23s. Playing non essential games. Playing when we are comfortable in a game. Playing cup games. Substitute appearances. Loaned out etc etc etc

He has literally just turn 21 this month and will be a excellent player for us in a season or two of that there is no doubt. Nor does DF it appears. If we were mid table or way off the pace then I suspect this conversation would not come up. He actually had a good game Saturday, but I believe we need Klose back available.

However, if all our centre backs were fit, it is unlikely he would have played so much.

I don’t think it’s just us who have this problem though. It seems to be most grounds nowadays. I wonder if it has anything to do with whether you played the game as youngsters?

    Good point.

It is definitely not just a NCFC problem and there were in the past many games when supporters would be relatively passive. However this season is completely different in so many ways, for us and compared to other clubs.

We are batting way above our expected position, have a very young and inexperienced team who may, if the season ends well, stick with us for a while and really push on. And we are witnessing some of the best football seen at Carrow Road for many, many years (in my opinion).

Without being pessimistic imaging going to one of the hilarious Jongleurs comedy clubs, as you liked comedy. Seeing a number of superb acts and whilst others around you are in fits of laughter (there were always one or two comics who made you cry with mirth), you and your table of 6 just sat there the whole show stony faced without a single smile or appreciative clapping!

I guess people pay their money, and as such they can do what they like. Just a shame we appear to have so many.

We have been fortunate over the years to have had a whole string of fine keepers from Nethercott, Kennon, Keelan, Woods, Gunn etc etc. Green, Forster and Ruddy weren't to shabby either.

    Perhaps we've been spoiled.

We have indeed been spoiled, and why not. We appear to have a habit over the years of having some superb keepers and of course a few...……...less so.

At this moment and in keeping with our finances Krul is an excellent addition. Would have loved Angus to have stayed but being realistic that was never going to happen.

Their second goal? Quite a few could have done a bit more stop stop that but there is no point or advantage to lay blame. We are were we are because of a team collective and we are one hell of a ride at the moment.

    Strap yourselves in !

Very serious. I don't rate Krul. At best he is a very average Championship keeper. Thought he was poor again today.

Got nothing to do with finding scapegoats or not supporting the team - he's just not a very good goalkeeper.

Completely disagree with this. I have seen every goalkeeper we have had as a permanent signing  here since Keelan and I can tell you now he not "just not a very goal goalkeeper'

He perhaps is not the greatest to play for city but he adds things others do not. Experience, maturity and presence to name but a few.

Mark my words we will need characters like him in our team set up once we get to the nasty end of this campaign.

Little doubt that Klose needs to come back into the side when fit. Godfrey has done a job there but taking the romance out of the fact that he is a youngster who has progressed since coming to the club his defensive awareness it not up to the mark yet which i feel has left Lewis a little exposed a few times and limited his forward forays deep into the opponents half.

Totally agree here. Godfrey is going to be excellent for us in a season or two, whether that is in the championship or Prem. We need Klose back ASAP, and Emi B to get more game time to sharpen up his sublime skill back to where it was pre injury.

I'm sure McClean will have a part to play as this season pans out as well.

Don't think it's an age related thing Easty. The ones behind me who don't like me being vocal can't be more than half my age. Real critics too. If I played "critic catchphrase bingo" I'd get a full house before 15 mins on the clock.😯🙃

Spot on. It amuses immensely me when those same said critics complain about a run, pass or passage of play, only for it to turn out to be a superb piece of skill, before the dribble, nonsense or utter ignorant point is completed. But at least those types make noise I guess.

Some of them think that they're 'students of the game '

My point is I suppose, as you say, we have many 'students of the game' (very amusing analogy by the way). Many of these, who must have seen some of our darkest days (including being able to actually sit on the terracing at home games, when back in old First Division, such was our numbers and footballing fare on offer).

To now witness our team, crafted over the last two seasons playing some of Carrow Road's best football, and for a large number to sit there without a murmur of support or acknowledgement, is quite incredible.

That area of the River end has an infection of apathy. I will continue to shout and cheer...…………..**** the doom mongers

  18. We are holding our own still, despite the attrition to our defence and the astonishing age of the replacements and even starters. However, I agree old heads are needed when the run in starts and Hanley in my opinion would be a good man in there.

Klose is class and we should get him back in ASAP, but CZ has been generally immense for us this season.

    Who'd be a manager eh?

  19. River End, Nutty.

Don't get me wrong there are tons of individuals supporting the team in there, and so they should considering the efforts on show, but there is a large sway of people who would literally make more noise in a library from just having to choose a book!

    It is absolutely frustrating.

And yes if you dare shout encouragement at a crucial moment during an attack...………...well stand by for distained looks and collective tuttering.

Sounds like I'm brand new to this supporting lark, unfortunately I'm not and this has been a trend for many years. It is probably down to a lack of available seats and an increasing aging support. Most clubs suffer this, but most clubs do not have our level of entertainment on offer!

    Ho hum...…...
