Australian Canary 1 Posted March 2, 2005 We all understand where Delia was coming from but this was not the way to fire up the fans. The fans become vocal in reaction to players actions. The players can fire up the crowd and encourage them. Foxy and Flecky used to gee the crowd up all the time during the game. We need influential players to interact with the crowd and get them singing if it goes quiet.
ZLF 275 Posted March 2, 2005 I agree that the fans take their cue from the players and the most noticeable reaction was to the Sibierski goal when the yellow shorted players heads visibly dropped and all the good work of the first 16 minutes disappeared from their play - the fans saw it and reacted to it. They did try and sing, as some city players tried to fight, but the stuffing was knocked out of fans and players alike by that single goal. OTBC
