Hayden 0 Posted November 18, 2003 After reading various comments and trying to read between the lines today it seems that the Hucks deal is panning out as follows:1. Worthy is after Hucks big stylie but he has no money to put where his mouth is. Man City are £50m in debt and hence will command a high fee for him, which we aint got. Wigan however and incredibly Millwall do have the cash and offer a much more likey financial boost to Keegan. Hence his comments today, to stir them into action.2. City would be in the driving seat I believe if the deal was swop orientated as we have Green, but this would not involve cash plus our classy number 1 as Man City are skint. Greeno is worth more to Norwich than Hucks £1m price tag so that is a no-goer.3. Do Wigan or Millwall have someone Man City want and are willing to do a swop deal? this would scupper our chances furtherEnd of the day then, to get Huckerby we need a minimum of £850,000 (probably more likely to be a £1m), as a swop deal i believe is bad business. Do we have the cash then? err, probably not, so I can only see one sad conclusion to his awesome spell here. Crouchy on loan to the end of the season really should be our most realistic target, I just hope the focus remains on both players and not Hucks, but he really has been fantastic and set up so many goals it would be gutting to lose him.OTBC
