Valentin Iliev, Martin Taylor, Chris Armstrong, David Norris, Shola Ameobi, Stuart Fleetwood and who ever else we have been linked with. 

For my mind the rumour is working far harder than it has ever done before.  We are being linked with loads of players with some of the rumours backed up with credible news articles.  I am enjoying it, I like the thrill of the will we won''t we chase.

Any my train of thought is this.  Promotion is almost certainly out of the reckoning this season (mathematically no, realistically yes).  The play offs are also slightly out of reach, an unbelievable run and maybe but seriously unlikely.

However, lets look at the flip side of the coin.  Everybody talks about a side having to gel together, players learning to play together etc etc..  Maybe, just maybe Glenn is going to try and assemble the bulk of a squad together this Jan so they can spend the rest of the season ''gelling'' ready for a real promotion push next season.  A few finishing touches in the summer and who knows.

Also we could well be seeing a lot of the deadwood cleared out this month, including Chris Martin (who by all accounts is on a hefty wage for his age) so the wage budget shouldn''t be an issue.  We are generating some of our own funds from player sales (Lewis, Brown, Murray).  If the board can find some decent money to top Glens coffers up this could be a productive transfer window. (Its a big IF)

I also have a feeling that this window isn''t going to be quite the sellers market it normally is as most of the reports coming out from most clubs indicate that managers are having to sell to buy (exceptions noted).  Fingers crossed eh.....Forever optimistic
