Curly Yellow 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Greetings all,How do you think Hucks will fit in this season? Assuming we play PG''s favoured 4-4-2, I believe that PG doesn''t feel that comfortable with Hucks wide left due to his defensive shortcomings. I would suggest this is the main reason Lappin was recruited. It was noticeable to me last season the number of times we were opened up down our left side and the number of goals we conceded from there. Surely one of the main areas for improvement this season will be reducing the number of goals we concede. While Earnie was out towards the end of last season, PG often played Hucks as one of the front two (but with licence to roam) with considerable success. This coming season, it looks like the front two will be Cureton alongside a target man. So where does that leave Hucks?I reckon Hucks will probably start most home games on the left flank, but I think we may see him subbed quite a few times (if and when we are leading) or moved up front during the second half of games. Away from home, I think PG will often use 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 - which will make it easier to accomodate Hucks and still be solid defensively. What do others here think?
